I agree. My First credit card in college was Discover with little to no credit history at the time. I had to show proof of enrollment but it was fairly simple.

Yes, the chase Freedom Rise. However, upper 600s I would go for a Discover or capital one card. Both are generally friendly to new-to-credit or students.
