Seriously. Even for gas 5% (PFCU) isn't a huge amount. That's like $3ish a week. YEs it's $150 a year but not like it's thousands of $$$ For reference a M3LR has a 70kwh pack and 4%...

'EV charging purchases'.... I wonder if that counts if you buy a EV charger like a Tesla HPWC or a juice box?
Post #157306351 added 08-30-2022 6:37 PM by MakoBumiOkii in Hot Deals
It's never been 70kwh. It was 75 and now it's 83. Maybe not a useable 83, but it's always been more than a useable 70kwh also, if you're going to supercharge, why not link your Costco citi card...

Better than using a 1.5% cash back card I guess. Thanks OP.

That doesn't sound correct. Why do you think that? Update: I assume you may have found the "Certain Non-Qualifying Purchases" statement as being ambiguous or confusing, as it states, "You will...

Yep, certainly have to make the math work. I did 20 year one time lease payment and they paid for themselves in about year 8. So, not subject to these gas or electricity price spikes on personal...

slick if you ignore the huge investment in EVs first. Slick is a geo metro with 85 octane.

I love my costco card for this, I've paid for my membership just by filling up my tank every 2 weeks.

I have a 5000+ mile road trip coming up and this will come in handy since Tesla has changed to off-peak and peak charging rates. Every little bit helps.

I have been using EVs since 2013. I have two EVs now. In all these years, I probably spent less than $100 on public paid EV charging. Majority of my charging happens at home (TOU) or at free charging...
Sun glaring is irrelevant with NEM,it's a yearly true up. Hasn't solar roof been a litany of issues for Tesla?

Note that the card still offers 3% on dining/travel and 2% at Costco. The change is just adding EV to the 4% gas category and perhaps increasing the annual limit on gas/EV from $6k to $7k.

Maybe I'm lucky, but the local library has 4 free chargepoint chargers near me in the underground parking garage. I see all types of cars there charging for free (Tesla, Leaf, Prius, my own etc). ...

I googled it. Even if it's $0.50 and you do a FULL charge (unlikely), it's $1.40 total discount. Not exactly big money.,

Good points and realistic. The typical pure EV owner will charge at home because it is convenient and they have house with garage. As the above poster states, DCFC rates are expensive, so not much...

I never found TOU worth it. Especially since many people are WFH so usage tends to be consistent throughout the day, but they jack up the rates to compensate overall for the "free" nights and...

What's the slickest way to get set up for TOU? I assume I need some sort of charger that will only charge at certain times, or can my Audi etron do that by itself?

Holy cow, 46 cents! Unaffordable. This deal is good to know, but kinda useless. Does anyone spend 5K a year on EV charging? Then you'll save 200 bucks? Big deal. Any regular credit card gives...

This is not a deal per say but I think people can benefit knowing that the citi/Costco Visa card now provides 4% cashback on EV charging. I believe this added benefit started around July or August...

Yup… I’m on a TOU EV rate with a super off peak which is essentially $0.08 per kWh from 10pm to 5am. That combined with my Chargepoint Flex is super slick.
