And stick with a 27" 1440p monitor. How clear and easy to read is most important for me.

So from the specs on that, the HDMI port supports a maximum resolution of 1920x1200.
The DisplayPort should be able to drive a 2160x3840 (4k) display but may not be able to do so in HDR color.

A 1080p 24" monitor is around 92 PPI, a 1440p 27" monitor is around 109 PPI, and a 2160p (4k) 32" monitors is around 138 PPI. A 27" 2160p monitors is about 164 PPI.
