This is what I rec'd for adding my card to Apple Pay only: extra 6% on $1,000 in purchases (max $60) which means during this quarter, it stacks with the 5% target if there's a way to use it there.

There is no benefit to canceling your card. If you don't plan to use it, put it in a drawer and leave it there. Let Discover cancel it at some point, if they so choose.
