To jay's suggestion of matching the speed of the existing RAM (if you go that route), you can use CPU-Z to easily find the current memory specs.

Well if you want you could just look at buying a motherboard and processor as long as the memory will work or look for a deal from Costco but buy a brand name PC.

I would get a second stick of 8 GB ram to match and check what is running at startup Right click taskbar -task manager look at the startup tab not much needs to be enabled.

It has a factory installed WD 256GB SSD with plenty of free space on it. The RAM I ordered for it should arrive today, so hopefully I can get it installed asap and see if that helps.
