i've owned two with zero rust issues. really depends upon where you live. they'll also replace the frame - which if you want to keep the truck is an option.

Living in a state that uses a lot of salt that looks fairly normal to me for a five year old pickup. It looks to be surface rust. The frames on older Tacomas rusted all the way through.
