That would be the same as hand picking tomato's and putting them in a plastic bag in the veggie department - it would count as "one item" - but canned items are not the same thing you do not hand...

If you buy five of the same item, lets say baked beans (looking at your exploding smilie made me think of that) and they scan it as one scan x5 would that be one item or five? :scratchh:

I take a check into the bank with a deposit slip, give it to the teller, they enter the deposit directly into the banks computer and I get a receipt with my ending balance. No account...

Portland is similar...people very rarely use their horns. And they almost always let people merge or turn onto a road from a street/parking lot/etc. Very polite drivers!

Each UPC that can be scanned for purchase is an item. The cashier still has to count them even if they don't scan them. If you have five cans of beans, it is five items.
