Be careful, you own a GM product and that extra weight will bring your rear-view mirror crashing down. Come to think of it, on Chevy's, the weight of the mirror alone will bring it down.

How is mounting to the bottom of the mirror smart in terms of visibility? Seems like it would be line of sight in the way. mounting on windshield allows you too put it lower such that it doesn't...

Thanks for the info. I will definitely have to give this a try. I hate the suction mounts as they tend to release frequently during sudden temperature changes (when running AC, Defrost, etc...) and...

Good idea on the bracket. It would be okay for anything fairly small but I wouldn't want my gps blocking that much of my vision. And I prefer my gps directly in front of me on the dash. It only...

Had one fall off on a 90 454SS and a 85 K1500. And once it starts, the glue from Autozone etc. only lasts about couple of years approx. With no additonal weight attached.

Not crapping on the thread, just saying that it is NOT going to increase the average lifespan of the adhesive on any make or model vehicle. Does that mean that the mirror adhesive is guaranteed to...

This works best if you have a powered rearview mirror where you can slip a thin power line between your detector and the power plug for the mirror. Cord like this: ...

I guess only people with RX65 will understand your post. How did you turn off reputation points for yourself. Why would you do it?

Its valid for everything you want ot mount under the rear-view mirror It's in your profile settings, since they are 99.99% useless

In the instance of the device pictured it's just the bracket that comes with the radar detector. You remove the suction cups and use that portion for the nut/bolt/washer combo. It will vary from...

Exactly why I would never live in CA as much as I like the area. If mounted properly the radar detector will hang about an inch lower than your rear view mirror and take up much less room than...

Under the head liner and down the A-piller & into the dash is the most popular route to run it.

Bumping this up as there's been a few radar detector threads lately and a lot of people talking about Blendmounts costing nearly $100 and even paying $30-$50 for cheap knock-offs on eBay. Seems that...

Guess so I know that you can also get a smaller flat wire for the detector and run it between the glass and the ceiling-liner so it won't show, but that's a couple more $$$ my mirror is...

Neat idea, but I've re-glued too many mirrors on GM trucks to hang anything off the mirror. Years back I accidentally knocked the mirror off an old Audi 200 and a small thin part of the windshield...

Interesting. I looked into a blendmount in the past but couldn't stomach the cost. I ended up mounting my Escort 9400 to the right of the rearview mirror. It's ok except it's hard to silence an alert...
