What is the model of your current asus router? If it's really old, like wireless g, that's understandable. Honestly, any 30-50 dollar 300/600mbit router will be fine. Just make sure to hookup the ps4...

vita 1000 has IEEE 802.11b/g/n support as well
the 2000 has 5ghz support, but i doubt it makes a huge diff tbh.

Perhaps I should have mentioned this.. but of course I've attempted remote play.. at least a dozen times or more.. with both PS4 & PS3 Vita
