i stream 4k videos from my plex server to it works fine. 50GB a movie =] and no encoding needed because the roku TV can decode H265 files directly.

I think the native support are MPEG4 and H264. The file extension needs to be .MP4 or MKV. A problem that I had was it will not play AVI. So you may need to transcode to a suitable format first. But...
