I just saved almost 700.00 on a Toyota Extended Warranty. This is NOT an aftermarket warranty. The dealer where I bought my car wanted list price (1350.00 for 6 year 100,000 mile coverage). At that price I declined.
What I don't think is widely known is that you can buy an extended warranty from any dealer. It does not have to be bought from the dealer that you bought your car from. There are 2 who seem to be well know on various forums and have very aggressive pricing: Midwest Toyota in Kansas
(800-530-5789) and Greenfield Toyota in Mass(413- 772-0989). I'm sure there are others.
Toyota list prices can be found here:
List Prices [toyotafinancial.com]
For my car (Rav4) the 6 year 100,000 is listed at 1350.00. I purchased mine from Midwest Toyota for 654.00. Just a heads up for anyone buying a new Toyota and interested in an extended warranty.

Here's my last email from Neil, acknowledging the dealership option:

NIC,
Sorry to hear about that. Any Toyota dealership can refuse to take the plan
since they are owned by individuals. It's a shame that they don't take the
Toyota plans. I don't carry any 3rd party plans so I am afraid I can't help.
Good luck and enjoy the islands. I miss the ocean life so much.
Thanks,

The first question is:
What state do you live in?
Please note: Toyota Financial Services vehicle protection programs are not available in the following areas: AL, AR, FL, GA, HI, LA, MS, NC, OK, PR, SC, and TX.
That being said, I am sure that someone traveling in those states would be able to obtain warranty service and vice versa. There has to be a reciprocal agreement. Hawaii may be a special circumstance since it probably doesn't receive much interstate auto traffic.
Now, does that mean that the GEICO MBI will be a rip-off? I don't know, but comparing it to a traditional warranty is an apples and orange comparison. I have major reservations about entering into anything where the true cost is hidden. It's an insurance policy, not a warranty.

This Troy guy is fast. I just requested a quote and I got an email with the quote within like 3-5 mins. He quoted me $945, with $0 deductible (Platinum Plan) for 7 yr / 100,000 miles for my Toyota Sienna 2007. Dont know how good is that, will have to check with some other names listed in this forums.
UPDATE - Neil from Molle Toyota quoted me $845 for the same plan.

Still, in case it wasn't, I thought I should point out that not all Toyota dealerships will accept the Toyota extended warranty.
I did my research last year (7/08) and found that Servco Toyota in Hawaii has their own warranty plan, and will not accept the standard Toyota Extended Warranty. In fact, AFIK, they don't offer the standard Toyota warranty option to their customers.
I was also told that if someone imports their Toyota from the mainland (continental states), that they (Servco) will not honor the standard Toyota Extended Warranty. They will only honor their "Servco Toyota" warranty.
I just assume that there are other dealerships out there who are pulling the same thing, so I thought other Toyota owners should know. If you decide to purchase a warranty from another state, verify from your local Toyota dealership that they will accept the warranty you are purchasing.

I was going to purchase the warranty through:

I didn't actually purchase the warranty from him, but I read good things about him from the link above. Good luck if you decide to try it out.

I did seem to get better service on my 91 Truck originally purchased through Servco than my 99 Camry brought over from the mainland.

My wife worked at Toyota Financial Services as a temp for a while. Her ONLY job was to sit there and cancel peoples' extended warranties that wised up after originally buying it. All day, every day.

mmmm interesting, can you elaborate a little bit more please? thanks

Extended warranty company business models are like this: sell a product and then do everything in your power to ensure it remains profitable. There are lots of details that you'd never consider hidden in fine print, including what's covered and what's not, under what circumstance's its covered, and different ways you could void the whole thing. If they can find a single reason to deny your coverage and still keep a straight face, they will try it, and unless you want to take them to small claims court, there isn't much you can do about it.
I'm not saying you couldn't somehow get your money out of it. My cousin bought an extended warranty on her dishwasher, had it refunded and a month later the dishwasher died and needs to be replaced. Probably better to take the money you're planning on spending on an extended warranty and save it or even invest it. Just my (common) opinion.
