True, you cannot use the 20% on carts as it says in the fine print on the coupon. Now the bad news, I think the coupon you're trying to use expired yesterday. It's hard to tell from Dd's posted pic of it but if I'm not mistaken it says "Valid thru 5/22/12". BUMMER! Sorry Doc.

NP that was an example though.... I guess the taller cart has a coupon in FHM (family handyman); will have to check when I get home.

Nope, I think they all have a disclaimer on them now about not being accepted for 800 number or online orders (see post #3121 above for a good view of the fine print). Someone else may be able to chime in and say how long that's been in effect.

OK try this - I checked my FHM and: 26" 8 drawer roller cabinet with 8 drawer top chest (LOT NO 67831) for $299.99 - Code is 18XXXXXX.

I go to HF, search for item 67831, add to cart and try to apply coupon but get "Item 67831 is excluded from this coupon offer."

Now, the coupon expires 8/17/12 and specifically states "Original coupon must be presented in-store or with your order form, OR ENTERED ONLINE in order to receive the coupon discount"

I'm doing nothing wrong yet it still refuses to accept the coupon?

I get both email and snail mail ads. The snail mail flyer is newsprint like they have in the stores. A friend of mine got a small booklet (about 6" x 9") printed on glossy magazine paper. Lots of coupons with his customer number after the regular barcode. How do you get on the list for the booklet? Thanks...Paul

Anyone have a 20% off coupon good later than may 31? I wont be able to use it until june

Scuttlebutt claims that the glossy magazine paper booklets are a recent invention to reconnect with customers who have not used their coupons in quite some time. Many of those booklets will say something like THIS IS OUR LAST ATTEMPT TO REACH YOU!!! ENJOY THESE EXCLUSIVE OFFERS AND COME BACK TO HARBOR FREIGHT on the top page. The booklets obviously look and feel different, but also contain different marketing tactics. I saw a coupon for a jack today; the front read "$60 off this bangin' kick ass jack" or whatever instead of the standard HF price, SKU and picture format. So I guess stop using your coupons for like six months?

I suspect and have absolutely NO evidence to support this that HF is sending out the glossy booklets on a trial basis as part of an ongoing, company-wide push to improve customer data collection. By putting the customer number in the barcode, the pain-in-the-ass barcode on the back of the monthly bulk newspaper mailers is eliminated, along with numerous other customer service and experience issues. Again, I am talking out of my ass here, but I would bet that HF will transition to these mailers (albeit on slightly less nice paper) within two years.

yeap it's all marketing. I got that booklet once about a year ago. Also got the "cheaper" flyer in the mail too. But since I signed up for ITC I get the more expensive flyers now.

When is the sale price for the vacuum pump dropping to $90? It was $105 in store today.
Is the flyer posted on the wiki yet ?

With the code date being good I'd think your only option is to give HF a call on this one. If nothing else, they should be able to place your order over the phone.

Anyone have a deal on the jacks? I didn't realize the 20% off coupon doesnt work for them. Is this close to the bottom price for this jack?
