I just bought a Craftsman saw from another slickdeal and realized its the exact same saw that HF sells, only diff is the color scheme on the plastic pieces and logos - pics attached.
Btw, Hoping someone can help me decide which saw i need. Would a 7 1/4" sliding compound miter saw be the equivalent of a 10" non-slider since it slides? Would be nice to use only 1 blade size for this and a circular saw too. |

I now go in normally with my list as (and no issues if computer says valid (& applicable): coupon code, item description, item code(s), price. Last edited by genec1; 03-09-2013 at 07:46 PM.. Reason: coupon/item |

Btw this is the thread if anyone is interested in getting the saw for $50-$55. Basically, you buy 3 saws, use the coupon code, pickup 1 in store and have the other 2 shipped (free) then return those. Probably only worth it if you have a sears close by as I do. But like I said, this is the exact same saw as HF sells but it's 1yr warranty vs 90 days. http://slickdeals.net/f/5894862-U...re-Pickup?

I've never had an issue at my store with "giant" printed coupons that were obviously from my computer. Seems it's very dependent on your local store\cashier\manager. You can search this thread for "coupon policy" and see many entries with great information regarding this topic. Here is a link to the SD New User Guide. It is very helpful and despite the fact that I've been a SD'er for a couple years now, I still reference it first when I have questions. Very good info, even for those seasoned vets out here. The Wiki (located on the very first page of this thread) also has a great deal of information and links specific to HF and this thread. Kudos to the OP (Original Poster <-- the one who started this thread) Dumpsterdiver (aka Dd) and all those who contribute to and maintain it! |

If I were to bother with spending money, I'd love to grab a 12" double bevel sliding compound miter saw like HFT #69684 [harborfreight.com] (~120 for today OR by a coupon posted here in the last 2 weeks) on my Ridgid MS-UV.(a combination miter saw stand/miter saw cart). $80 for something that will "just do" for this project or $120 for something that should take care of any future project? I'll spend the $120. This is actually a part of how I inherited the Craftsman as my dad upgraded to a DeWalt comparable to HFT #69684. Side note: the electric brake is a nice bonus safety feature but NEVER EVER depend on it as my Craftsman's brake circuit is unreliable (works ~75% of the time). ALWAYS practice safety common sense. It's 100 miles round trip to my nearest HF so I have to make it worth the while when I go. I typically do 3 different orders (for me and the 2 guys at work - wink, wink) and I have coupons for absolutely every item I'm purchasing. Plus I always get a "free item" with each order. Knock on wood, but I've never had a problem. I've even had luck the last 2 visits using ITC coupons. Seems they must figure that if you have the coupon you must be a member.

To qualify that jw, I can't say that I endorse the process of applying the same Q twice in one day (you know, the corporate policy and everything...) but that's not to say I've never done it. Typically, I make sure to use a different cashier and a different Q (maybe a flashlight one time and screwdrivers or the meter the next). As with you, I always have a Q for the items I purchase and there is always a free item with every purchase. One day I even pulled off a grand slam in a half hour (4 purchases w\4 free items) but I don't make that a habit. Know your environment, look for cashier changes and try not to be too obvious. You're not doing anything illegal but getting the most from every purchase is imperative. My big advantage over you is my distance to the store (less than 10 minutes from work - about 50 minutes from home).I will credit you for going into uncharted territory for me with the ITC Q's though. Haven't tried that yet but it is more a case of not finding the right Q for the purchase. One day I'll venture into the unknown and feel the exhilaration of being completely invincible like you. For now I lay in wait and plot my next purchase (aka sinister move). Mu hahahahahahaha! |
