So on Friday AM, I woke up for work, did my normal routine etc and than went to go take my vitamin C orange flavor chewable that I have and than realized about 15 minutes before leaving home that I was unable to taste it. So than I went and grabbed the cinnamon essential oil that we use in the Kitchen for the pleasant smell on the diffuser. I was unable to smell it and put a dab on my tongue as well and was not able to taste it.
so I gave my boss a text and said I wouldn't be in and ill schedule for a test today to be sure. I end up getting one for CVS at 11am, 20 minutes from home.. I left house little after 9 and headed that way since I was going to park in the parking lot and chill for a bit since I was originally schedueld for a conference call for work on Google Meets, so I got on that for the hour and than when I finished I pulled into the drive thru and took the test.
I did it myself and the swab apparently does not stay in the liquid filled vial, they told me to put it into the zip bloc bag after I was done to dispose, No other symptoms or fever. but did end up taking about a 2-3 hour nap Friday evening and felt okay the rest of the way. (I do have an O- blood type, as I've heard multiple times that they aren't many affected or may not have much symptoms but I obviously have it or something if it happened overnight.
I thought it was kinda funny and deft. weird that I ended up taking a shotglass of 190 proof everclear and it didn't phase me at all Like man that's some strong stuff but to be able to just take the shot and not feel it or the burn that this is something serious! ha well today to Tuesday I should find out my results and go from here.

I had it way back last March, the first week we were all working from home. At that point, none of the symptoms I had matched what were the "official" symptoms then (it was dry cough and fever way back then), so I didn't even think we (DW and I at least, and probably all the kids) had anything. A day of achiness and basically "maybe I'm getting a cold" type symptoms, that resolved. Then a minor sinus headache with ZERO congestion. Then 2 weeks of no taste/smell and shortness of breath, but nothing like I'd run to the hospital - more like, hey why did walking upstairs wind me a bit? In fact I remember thinking that it could possibly be the "homebound" life of eating constantly and not exercising catching up to me.
But, 6 antibody tests later (4 unique tests) and I'm still rocking them.

Fasting is a BAD idea. People get sick enough they don't feel like eating, and don't have the energy to prep food, either.
One of my nurses lost 20 lbs with it.
Eat while you can.
