Hawaiian Airlines, United Airlines and Expedia have round trip airfares travelling to and from San Francisco (SFO) or Los Angeles (LAX) and Maui Kahului Hawaii (OGG) for $180, nonstop! On Hawaiian Airlines, this fare is main cabin BASIC fare which means you are allowed a free carry-on bag in addition to a small personal item. I took advantage of this earlier this year. Just be sure to book your rental car months in advance, and check local car rentals (not the national chains) for better deals, usually on older vehicles.

Checked some LAX TO HNL (Oahu) and they also show under 200 Roundtip on Expedia.

I could add from personal experience that it's a must go place. While there don't miss out Star Noodles, one of the best places for it. We had to try 3 days in a row to get some reservation but it was worth it.

I flew out on the first day they allowed the vaccine card on July 8th and I didn't take a covid test. I used my vaccine card.

If you are fully vaccinated you don't need the 72 hour negative test before your flight. You just have to fill out their form on the website and upload and bring the physical vaccine card.

AA has 2 direct flights from LAX and for $186 starting September. It's a better deal than UA since they are in main cabin the equivalent fare one on UA would be $280
