First off, Costco will have this on sale for $119 with an extra band (note that this will make it NOT price-matchable to the OP's offer, since they would have a different part number). I'm getting mixed info on when, exactly, this will hit... I've heard that it may be on the 19th which would be great for me as that's my last day of the 30-day price adjustment... but even then Costco is pretty good about adjustments to themselves anyway.
My wife has the 5 now, and she had a 3 before. Longer story short, she's very happy with it. Better accuracy, much faster device than the 3 was, better screen, excellent battery life (if you leave the always-on option disabled).
ECG has now been released. We tried it the other day - her heart beat is regular, which matches with doctors findings as well (she actually just had one recently at the doctor's office).
The complain posts on Amazon should be taken with a bit of a grain of salt. One reviewer says that he was not able to return it, while others say that this was a glitch. They also went on to say Fitbit was previously owned by Amazon (not true) and that's why he thinks it's glitching (not sure how it relates, but whatever).
Yes, some features are only available with a premium subscription. Anyone who reads even the most basic review knows this, but I guess it's worth mentioning here. That said, my wife was on "regular" for a while with her 3, and found it offered plenty of info. You may not get graphs for your sleep, for example, but you do get your sleep score. I think the new "readiness" feature is premium only. Bottom line, if you want more detail, yes it's in premium... but the basic info is still provided in most cases. Certainly, be aware of what you want to see here.
Overall, we're happy with her Charge 5... but you can always try yourself and return (from what most reviewers are saying). Overall the reviews at Amazon and elsewhere are positive as well... but to each their own, of course.

Yea you saw a YouTube video sponsored by Fitbit saying how good this is, sounds about right
Not a Samsung fan at all, it's the only Sammy product I own, it just works better, and have had zero issues in the last year and a half.
I've had a charge 2 and a charge 3 and never had any problems with either of them.
Not sure if this dude was sponsored, but pretty cool how he compares charge 5 to pro level devices.
