I bought this tv when it was on sale at $1699 + 500 Bb gift card and i am very happy with the purchase . Was debating between this or a 77 inch c1 oled ( almost double the price at $2600) but i have a very bright living room with big windows and i was told by best buy rep that the oled wdnt do justice if the room is bright enuff and i cdnt agree more . Have a 48 oled c1 on my bedroom upstairs and it does well whn its dark but is ok ok when the room is lit during day . Primarily use my tv fr movies/ shows on prime/netflix and iptv . Though the blacks on neo led are not as black as oled, its surely the nearest they have to oleds .
The best deal for 75QN84A was $1699 + $500 gift card https://slickdeals.net/f/15498661
I still don't consider it a good option, mainly because of IPS panel which leads to poor contrast ratios.
That's not necessarily correct. Straight forward this tv has excellent contrast/colors.'at an angle your going to lose that simply because one of the only technologies to combats this is an Oled display.
This tv though is significantly brighter and you will never have to worry about Burn in or Image retention.
I have both an LG Oled and a high End Samsung tv, they are both excellent. Oled looks spectacular in a controlled lighting room, near perfect blacks and the highlights really stand out.
The Samsung very bright and colorful with good (not great) contrast. I like watching sports and pretty much all Live tv and Gaming in the Samsung. Movie watching I like the Oled better. That infinite contrast in a dark bedroom looks beautiful
Do you guys think Qn85 85 inches will ever go on sale? I havnt seen any real deal at all. I read some got it on sale for 2,999 instead of 3,299
I am trying to snag it from Costco preferably. But I am hoping for 2700 price tag. + 7 year warranty from Costco and cc
If it were me faced with the choice of spending $2,700 on this particular model but an 85-in tv, or maybe $100 more for a 77-in oled, I would go OLED. Sometimes bigger is not always better.
I have a 2019 Q80R 75". Based on rtings.com, my TV is at least as good as a q90A. Samsung has been dumbing down their sets over the last couple of years. Dramatically I might add.
If you know a veteran, thank them for their service and see if they'll work with you to purchase a television on shop my exchange.com. free shipping, no tax, and if you get it on sale, you'll save a lot of money.
I just picked up a 77-in Sony a80j, for 2429. I had to open up a credit card to save an additional 10%. I'll probably have it in the next week as it is still in route.
It's not about quality, I have to have a 85 inch. I have 75 inches around the house etc, but my basement is massive. I tossed a 65 inch down there as a cheap substitute 6 years ago.
Long story short, I play on my 75 q90 Samsung upstairs and my gf I got her a Ps5 and she's been playing downstairs w me.
The couch I swear is far as hell from that wall, and 65 inch looks like 42 inch.
Need all the inches can get, we love our Samsungs, so I know we'd honestly be happy with any midrange 85 inch.
Even considering to try the LG qled or whatever it is if it drops a lot too.
But I think the Qn85 85 is what my goal is.
I appreciate the insight, any other room, I would understand and your advice makes sense. But we need, a big bich.
I wasn't impressed with the 2199 Costco Sony x91j or whatever and since this is for gaming, we've had exceptional results w Samsung TVs

The model I am looking at is QN85 85 inch from costco particularly is where hoping price drops. if I can get this around 2700 I will bite instantly.
As I recall the qn85a in 85 inch uses a VA panel. And it has the extra wide viewing angle (all of the sets smaller than 85 in just have wide angle).
So you will have better contrast ratio compared to what rtings.com measured since it is a VA panel.
Maybe the prices will drop right before the new models come out. Or around super bowl time.
Really tempted to order one on 01/08 (because It says valid through 01/09) and maybe hoping price drops at midnight or whatever, and costco phone service told me they will price adjust up to 90 days on tv's even though technically its 30. they said its fine to do that.
but buy it, use it, pray it drops within 90 days, and just return it if not, new models will be coming out around then.
if it doesnt drop on 01/09 I could always cancel it next day and do it again the day before next price change. idk. decisions decisions.
I did read that the QN85 85 is VA panel as well, and gets better speakers from costco, + 4 % cash back from purchase + 5 year warranty + 2 year warranty from costco, not a bad deal if I can get a good price.
The deal is the open box with GC. I personally would get the 85", then you won't think about upgrading in the near future.
I just got home with my open box after a 3hr car ride. Marked satisfactory because of a scratch on the back of the panel. Turned it on to see a terrible bleed in the letter box, only to find the whole tv was bent.

BB cancelled my Openbox saying not in stock anymore . Ended up ordering a new one for
1999 with 500 Gc . Reading comments above makes me feel better that my Openbox - excellent condition order was cancelled

3hr drive and you didn't check the tv before taking it?
I have Samsung first responder discount. Not much about 10% off I think. Comes out $2969.99 + tax ( shipping is free ) . Let me know if you need help, maybe I can send you a screenshot to try to PM at Bestbuy.

can you explain this? I appreciate the info, I am former military and police. I wonder if I can access a portal myself. ive never tried the portal stuff myself.
I think though id still pay 300 more from costco than Best Buy, due to 7 year warranty, + I get 4% back.
but im just hoping costco gets a sale! here are the only two tv's ive been eyeballing personally. if either went on a large sale id snag one of them. can you guys comment on this LG and samsung?
