Dual Bevel and sliding. Seems to check all the boxes for the previous "miter saw" deals I've seen where many people insist that if you get a miter saw these are at least two of the things you want. Not sure about blade size or the fact that it's battery-powered vs cordless though. Looking for a miter saw myself (will need to make some baseboard cuts at some point in the near future)
Looks like this unit is loaded with all the features that is available in market today. The only other unit I can think of with similar options is Kobalt which has been on sale for $220 after $50 off.
Why should anyone go for this 7 inch blade version over a 10 or 12 inch blade version? 7 inch blade seems really small.
I have both 12 non sliding and cordless sliding 7-1/4 and use smaller one all the time. Only thing small one falling back is extra power which I didn't know I never needed in the first place. Paying $5 for blades is extra bonus.. I'm only using mine around the house projects, and am ok with doing deep cuts in 2 passes.
I have this, an old fixed 10", and a flagship DeWalt DWS780 12" slider.
The DeWalt almost never gets used. The 10" gets used in the shop. The little portable Ridgid goes with me and gets used all the time.
I always recommend the smallest saw that has the cut capacity for the things that you actually need to miter. Yeah, the DeWalt has huge cut capacity, but I'm rarely cutting something that big that needs to be mitered and that gargantuan saw is a pain to store, move, and set-up and it's cuts aren't as accurate as the smaller saws due to slop in the mechanisms.
