I'm looking to upgrade my current patio umbrella, and am interested in the offset cantilever types and the double sided ones (that are like 15' long). However I'm wondering how stable either of these are, especially since I'm looking at lower priced versions (ideally around $100) which of course I don['t expect as heavy duty metal/poles as the pricier versions. Reviews I've seen for both types often talk about how unsteady these can be, and I tend to have breezes frequently in my back yard so that has me concerned.
Can anyone provide any experience with either type of umbrella that's had them? Did you find you had problems with stability/tipping over even when you thought you had it properly weighed down? If anyone has had multiple types (offset vs double sided vs standard) and could provide input which seemed to work best that would be great. I don't want to waste my money buying something that either will get limited use because I can't ever have it up in a breeze or will end up being damaged due to wind (seen several reviews talk about bent poles) and needs replacing in a year or two.
