Other than being $50 cheaper, how does this compare to the Dell - S2721DGF that I purchased yesterday but haven't yet opened? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell...Id=6421624

Assuming this is the same model - apologies if not:

Very similar.

The only other model to consider is the HP OMEN 27i for $299 but also similar

Only difference apart from the price is that this deal (the samsung one) is G-Sync compatible

Huh? There are lots of alternatives.

Acer XV272U @ $250: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Vbmii...B09R26XXFW (https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/acer-nitro-xv272u-kvbmiiprzx-vs-samsung-odyssey-g5-s27a... [rtings.com], the Vb is just missing some USB/KVM features compared to the kvb model, I think?)
HP X27Q @ $300: no rtings review but plenty of good ones elsewhere; doesn't seem to be on sale at the moment.
LG 27GL850-B @ $250: https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL850...B07TD94TQF (https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/lg-27gl850-b-vs-samsung-odyssey-g5-s27ag50/912/26280?us... [rtings.com])

All seem basically equivalent. I've been looking at the Acer because it had the least bad black uniformity and good pre-calibration colour accuracy, but those vary per unit so YMMV. Others might care about differences between stands/ergonomics.

I went through about 4 different monitors when I set up my system. I tried LG, Asus, as well as the recent Dell that was on sale. I also tried the Acer Nitro's. After all the testing and frustration I found the Acer Nitro to have the best picture quality out of all of them. The colors are super deep and the blacks are excellent. I have the 32 inch agile splendor model (1440, 170 hz, 1ms) and I just recently bought the 27 inch agile splendor model (1440,170 hz, 1ms) on prime day. From my understanding they use the same panels as some of the Asus. I was NOT impressed with the Asus settings as they were mediocre to say the least and could not tune it the way I wanted. The Nitro settings allow you to make the panel perform at its best. Another good thing is the Nitros are very affordable. I got my 32" for 325 and I got my 27" for 250. I would say the build quality probably isn't the best on Acer and there are small imperfections on both of my monitors. (small light bleed on one and then the blues seem to be slightly off on the other. But even with those things the Monitors look AMAZING. I have never seen an IPS look so good. They especially shine on older games. I have been playing Counter Strike Source the past year and it looks like a brand new game with these monitors. The colors are fantastic. Anyways, buying a monitor is truely frustrating especially when ordering online because you just dont know what you are going to get and what will suit your needs. Specs don't mean anything if the monitor doesn't have good color. Anyways thats my experience Smilie I am just happy I finally foudn what I needed! Have a good day!
