Survey Company Discussion & Review Thread

Hello survey lovers! Here is a thread just for you, to discuss various survey companies. The good, the bad and the ugly! Got a rant about a particular company? Here is your chance to vent. By the same token, got nothing but love for your favorite company? Share it with your fellow SD'ers!

The point of this thread is to help educate our fellow survey takers, both old and new, as to which companies are the most reputable to work with. Please keep in mind, however, that what one person may love about a certain company, another person may not.

This is a thread about opinions, but please be fair and honest in your descriptions. No slandering, no referrals, and no discussion of product tests.

In addition, please keep in mind that there are certain companies that, for certain reasons, do not wish to be discussed on message boards. These companies are listed in the survey forum rules, and may be found here.
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=51048&t=929574
You may also reference these rules for other FAQ's.

In addition, it might be helpful to keep a running tally in the Wiki of various survey companies as they come up for discussion. We can work together as a team to do this! Smilie

Have fun!

What other University Sona System survey sites (alliteration ftw!) pay well? I only can use UCLA and Yale (even though the Yale one isn't Sona)...the others I've joined (MIT, BYU, Kent State) restrict the surveys to students who live close by. Any others?

I don't know what's up with OpinionSquare but I've gotten 2 errors for surveys from them recently that have the "DQ" requirements listed BEFORE I even take it. So you basically know if you're going to follow into the DQ category before you even take the darn thing. It's kinda funny AND discouraging

Just signed up for slickdeal an hour ago and this thread caught my attention. Are there any survey sites out there that are just a complete wate of time and should be avoided?

Has anyone heard of BIGresearch? I've been receiving surveys from them, but I don't recall signing up for them.

Has anyone ever tried SurveyHead.com...I just signed up and am trying it out. When I googled them, I got mixed reviews. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks Smilie

Another company I like is Greenfield. I have made $161.50 with that company and have been with them since March 09 as well.
I just signed up with Greenfield a week ago. So far, the ONLY email links & surveys I get are rewarded as "sweepstake entry," not dollar amount.
Any suggestions/ advice?
How do I start taking surveys that compensate actual cash value?

Thanks & Happy Thanksgiving!

i think it depends on your profile demographics and some luck too probably lol
i did 45 freebies before i got my first paying survey
ive only made about 30 dollars with them since mid april 09
others have done much better though
i really dont think there is anything special you can do to get paying surveys
just be patient is my only advice
and remember that you probably will not get rich or make a good living doing surveys

people like you are the reason why surveys don't pay like they did years ago!

if the survey companies know that suckers will work for free (or for a few bucks an hour), they'll continue to decrease the pay offered on their surveys.

surveyhead and focusline are ok for some random surveys that pay about $3 - $4 for 15 minutes of work, but most of the surveys they offer aren't much better than GF and SS. Sure, they pay for each survey, but $1 or $2 for 20-25 minutes of work is slave labor. The suckers who complete them are the reasons why survey companies can get away with offering so little pay now.

if you're registered with 130 survey companies, then surely you know which ones are the good ones and they offer a heck of a lot more compensation than surveyhead and focusline!
