Survey Company Discussion & Review Thread

Hello survey lovers! Here is a thread just for you, to discuss various survey companies. The good, the bad and the ugly! Got a rant about a particular company? Here is your chance to vent. By the same token, got nothing but love for your favorite company? Share it with your fellow SD'ers!

The point of this thread is to help educate our fellow survey takers, both old and new, as to which companies are the most reputable to work with. Please keep in mind, however, that what one person may love about a certain company, another person may not.

This is a thread about opinions, but please be fair and honest in your descriptions. No slandering, no referrals, and no discussion of product tests.

In addition, please keep in mind that there are certain companies that, for certain reasons, do not wish to be discussed on message boards. These companies are listed in the survey forum rules, and may be found here.
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=51048&t=929574
You may also reference these rules for other FAQ's.

In addition, it might be helpful to keep a running tally in the Wiki of various survey companies as they come up for discussion. We can work together as a team to do this! Smilie

Have fun!

Hello all
Just wanted to add to this discussion, I don't post often here but will put my two cents in on this matter. I have been doing survey's for about 2 years now in my spare time. I work a full time job and a part-time, (a couple of hours a week helping an independent investor at home and I still have some time to make money on survey's. Please don't get discouraged I belong to many survey groups and most have been very profitable and well worth my time. I will list what I belong to and give a rough estimate as to how much I have cashed out the ones that don't pay that well I will be more than happy to be honest and tell you so:
Allure experts: not much just a few freebies not really worth the time to me
Betasphere: can't remember doing much with them
Chooze: absolutely a waste of time
Clearvoice: member since 3/07 $100 amazon gift cards several product test
Epoll: member since 1/07 - $40 amazon gift cards
elite opinion: member since 4/08 - $40 amazon gift cards
flavor designers: useless
synovate global opinion panel: member since 3/07, 70000 pts redeemed $70.00 many product test and freebies, several focus groups that equaled $100.00 or more
Harris poll online:
bzzagent: many freebies, product trials, including Oralb flex toothbrush valued at 200.00, vtech pin for homework, (not as many offers as I use to get)
hotspex: just points but have traded them for mypoints rewards mainly gift cards
Toluna formerly my2cents: $192.00 checks for points member since 2007
onlinebeta.com: only one focus group after applying to at least 50 for keyboard and mouse, never got my payment, prize whatever for testing. Had to send it back.
Opinion outpost: used to be really good, got a lot of invites at first: 63.00 since 07 but then about 9 months ago they just stopped sending invites. You now have to remember to log in and check them which I never do.
saynation: this one is for my 17yo teen:he has cashed in about $150 in prizes and gift cards
weeklyreader uboost - teens: 30.00 in amazon gc
zoompanel: lots of prize redemptions, electric skillet, amazon gift cards, been real slow lately
surveyspot since 07 about $400.00 in checks many product test
pinecone, about $75.00 not that much for me from them
teeneyes : about 125.00
test spin: been good to me but now I hardly qualify for anything: 152.00 since 07
valued opinions about 75.00
Ipsos: about 100.00 in cash, some test
wrating: I really like because they pay you almost immediately 5.00 amazon gift cards at a time have done about 100.00 with them but just joined last year. It is like rating different companies comparing against another
sorry so long there are a couple others I have done three market research studies one was450.00 it was a video one, two for like 200.00 and one for 20/20 research that I had to come in for here in Memphis it was 150.00 on the spot. I have had several online research ones from the various companies that I have listed 25 -50 at a time where I log in and stay on for about two hours. It has come in handy.

I still regularly receive emails from opinion outpost for invites.. Maybe they offered some new setting or option whether or not to receive emails :\ .

I just cashed out with them for over $300 right before Christmas (received the check yesterday) and I have already received/completed $35 worth of surveys from them. I receive their invites in clusters, I will go three days with nothing from them and then receive two or three 25 - 40 points surveys in a 12 hour period. I have also been getting a lot of PTs from them. Definitely check your settings and update your profiles.

My only major issue with OO would be OTX surveys. It has become beyond obvious that the aim of most of OTX's surveys is to collect as much info without confirming you completed the survey so they do not have to pay. I usually exit or DNQ on purpose because they are pretty fruitless but I received several that were quoted as being 10 minutes and worth 25 points so I went for it. All of them got about 5 minutes in and said I qualified for the rest of the survey and then another 15 minutes in (what happened to 10 minutes?!?) I got the typical wrap up questions then it abruptly tells me I DNQ and goes to the try again/no thanks screen.

Sorry, I feel the need to vent.. I just did a 15-20 min survey for Valued Opinions. After watching about 6 or 7 advertisements and answering questions about those ads I got to the end of the survey where it said they had "reached our target number of completed interviews". Why the h*ll can't they tell you that before you waste your time.. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Thanks, I ALMOST feel better now!

I've done e-rewards.net for a year and just get points. Used them to redeem from 1800 Flowers who screwed up the order and some Blockbuster free game rentals that you can only use 3x (once a month for 3 mos). Looking for cash. Thanks for this.

to klik .lets face it it only takes a moment of yor time to look at an email to see wether or not you want to take a survey .
atleast GTM posts the reward incentive in every invitation they send. its our decision to take it or move on .most people dont actually read the " terms" of joining when they join hi
hi, alot of people are bashing
these sites(myself included). they clearly state that there is no garantee that you will make money . the way i see it is ,if it 6 months to get enough points to cash out then 6 months from now i am that much nore ahead. as far as the amount being offered ,we now have sites only offering 30 and 50 cents per survey .i know ist sucks but its reality so the so those companies eventually will force other companies to bid lower on the survey contracts in order to keep competitive in the market.it sucks but that is the way bisiness goes .so the incentives are going to go down .i suppose anther way of looking at it could be that there are so many people that are out to take surveys for the "money" the companies might not feel they are getting true and honest input .so by lowering the incentives they will get rid of some people who dont care about the surveys and real opinions but only are ther to make income..myself i enjoy taking the surveys most of the time .i find them intresting and often fun.i feel that it is easy to get frustrated with these companies at times but i also try to keep in mind that i did sign the terms and agreement policy when i joined .

we can whine all we want .it probably wont change what these sites are going to offer or do for the most part . i dont do the sweeps or the 30 and 50 cent ones either but its about personal choice

More like they are satisfied paying peanuts to illiterate morons as to meet the quotas set by the clients they are conducting the research for as to retain most of the profit for themselves. Seriously, if you consistently reply to surveys in the manner in which you have replied here... it is no wonder survey companies are dropping their rate of pay.

i agree with you that its not fair to ask people to do these for basically free, but the fact still remains that are millions of people that have no income right now and they will do what ever it takes to get money .most will stop doing the cheapies once their financial situations improve.meanwhile the survey companies are taking advantage of it.
i dont beliieve anyone should do them for free but im not going to accuse them of being stupid if thats what they choose to do.after all we do still have some rights left
