Which one that will be depends heavily on what you plan to do or what projects you plan to work on. Someone who has a lot of tree trimming or demolition work will want the reciprocating saw. Someone who's planning some household carpentry projects might need the circular saw. Someone who's planning on doing a lot of basic woodworking projects might do well with the jigsaw. Someone doing more advanced woodworking projects could do very well with the router. Someone who wants a really flexible tool for drywall, tile, and miscellaneous stuff could find a lot of use in the oscillating tool. A gearhead who works a lot on their car would want the impact wrench.
There's no general answer that will be "right" for all or even most people.

Are the 5AH ones newer or older than the 6&4? (I saw a review of the 6 AH saying it weighed much more than the 5, but I'm not sure if that was for an older model.)

i have the 5Ah batteries that i got with the XR Hammer Drill and XR Impact Driver for $300 last year (it's currently live too) and for my needs 5 Ah it's too much power/battery life for me (came in handy for drilling through concrete though). i actually try to use my 18V Dewalt Cordless Drill (DC970) whenever possible for basic jobs that involve removing and putting screws on 1.2 Ah batteries because of how much power/battery life i have with the XR 5Ah set.
i ended up buying the HD deal and now i'll have a 6&4 so i can use the 4Ah most of the time and when i need more Power/Battery Life than the 5Ah i can slap on the 6Ah.
i would tell you buy both sets for under $200 so you end up with 4 batteries and all 3 different Ah sizes so you can use the 5 Ah for the majority of the jobs and the 4 Ah for lighter jobs and 6 Ah for when the 5 Ah doesn't cut it and you need even more power/battery life.
but if your only going to buy one than get 2 x 5Ah instead of 6&4.
Did it let you return just the batteries?

The 5ah is the best choice.
4ah weighs 1lb 5.8 oz.
5ah is 1lb 6.1 oz., only .3 oz more. For 25% more capacity.
6ah weights 2lb 1.5oz. That is a huge increase in weight (3/4lb more) compared to the 5ah for 20% more capacity. 6ah weights about the same as the 8ah.
5ah really are the sweet spot unless you need need major capacity, then 8ah are the best weight to ah ratio. At that point, I use flexvolts.

8Ah are not the best weight ratio, 10Ah is.

I like the 4ah compact as well. They really aren't much lighter than the old 4ah battery, but they sure feel smaller and lighter on the tool. I'm thinking it's the improved balance, with the battery being slimmer and not hanging so far away from the tool.
I don't know the weight of the 10ah, so I'm not sure about that one. I know it's physically larger than the 6ah or 8ah.
My big batteries are 9ah flexvolt. They are big heavy bricks, but those tools feel like they're plugged in.

6ah and 8ah are the same size, but 10ah is bigger. Here's a side by side pic https://www.protoolrevi
Anyone know a way to run this deal to help us?
Considering taking the Sawzall and batteries from here and getting the impacts at a pawn shop

Get the impacts at home depot. You can return the battery kit if you don't need it and still have the impact for a good deal.
Just went to local store and received a FULL REFUND ($214.xx) for returning JUST the batteries. Not sure if they did something wrong but great deal for me!
