For sure, but knowing the extent of my use cases, the 5900x is already pushing deep into overkill territory for my realistic near future needs. Also justifying the purchase by donating some of my current parts to my nephew as I build his first computer with him 😅

How would this differ from the 5800x3d? Thanks for your expertise. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor https://a.co/d/cNOYDZ8
The 5800x3d is 8 cores but has L3 Cache which is used in games to give you better performance. But in the long run when games are utilizing CPU cores better or if you are doing more non gaming CPU intensive things, the 5950 with 16 cores will be more "future-proof" - Disregard the threads, look at core count.
1440p gaming + streaming. is 5900x the right choice ?
