I am on the same boat. As DDR5 price drops a lot, it is more and more attractive to consider 7000 series.
Amazon has a lightning deal last month for $335, so I'd expect a drop for BF.
Yeah I'm waiting myself. I have a 3900X, so it's like a 15% upgrade. Not huge, but it's the cheapest upgrade I have with am4

If you're buying this for a gaming build you'll be better off with a 5800x3d. Otherwise this is the best AM4 processor available.

i think u mean the 5950x is the best am4 cpu right now?
No, the 5800X3D is bar none the fastest cpu for AM4 for gaming.
For most other workloads, the 5900x (and 5950x) are much faster.
Agreed, I probably wouldn't start a build on AM4 at this point. In my case, I've kept my X370 and upgraded from 1600 to 3600 and now to 5900X. It's a dead platform, but I'm happy to maximize what's left before maybe upgrading to AM5 in a few years.
You're right I forgot the 5950x existed for a moment there.
