Will there ever be a price drop on USTs?

I feel like UST is the way to go. Unless Hisense can make a 100" Dolby vision for like $3k.
One thing I don't get is why UST folks even bother with 1) speakers and 2) smart tv functions. Anyone with $5-6k to drop on a UST can afford a $60 Roku or Shield. And a $100 sound bar or stereo system. How about just sell the triple laser protector with Dolby vision and call it good?
My main question is will there ever be a step change price drop like we have seen in TVs in the past few years?
The ALR screen is the flaw I see as well. Vendors are absolutely massacring people on prices for screens and this is still something that requires fairly technical assemblies on the part of the owner. The screens should be more affordable than $2k that's just highway robbery
