This is the early 2022 model with 48 GPU cores rather than 64 GPU cores, but it's a beast. NEW condition with 1 year Apple warranty.

Apple sells this model refurbished for $3,059 when they're in stock:

If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Woot! is owned by a little company called Amazon. Ever heard of them?LMAO
Yup and good callout. Woot is confirmed NOT an authorized Apple reseller. Also, the warranty begins on the date that Apple sold these to Woot. Warranty does NOT start on the day you purchase it. You can verify the actual warranty start date (after you receive it) by calling Apple.
I'd be careful with WOOT and Apple products. I don't think they're an authorized reseller, therefore the Warranty could be invalid, regardless of what their site says.

Lots of nonsense in this thread. If it's advertised with 1 year AppleCare and it's sold as new, then odds are it's legit. Apple sells to Woot/Amazon as a clearinghouse when they want to clear their own old models out. Some of the refurbished units will be sold as Apple refurbished as well and carry a longer warranty under AppleCare. Woot is authorized or else they wouldn't occasionally carry genuine Apple refurbished products with AppleCare protection. Such a scam would have been exposed and well documented.

That said, read carefully because they also sell a bunch of stuff that didn't come direct from Apple. I'd definitely verify any purchase as soon as you get it, to be on the safe side. I would not put it past Woot to screw up listings (I've bought non-Apple refurbished from them and there were several errors, some that worked in my favor and others that resulted in a partial rebate which ultimately worked in my favor as well).

This listing, sold as new and with 1 year AppleCare... no reason to doubt the authenticity or the validity of Woot as the seller. Not that it matters, they're sold out.

Risky if you can't add apple care after the purchase. Woot is pretty much no warranty store.

Woot / Amazon has a 30 day return policy. So if Apple won't honor it then return it. That's my take.

Never suggested otherwise. My primary two machines are both Windows, typing on an Alienware laptop at the moment. My last Apple laptop is a brick (GPU failure) and my now ancient 2005 iMac had failed capacitors. I do have a 3rd party refurb iMac that I bought off Woot, (30 day warranty) but I've had it for six months or so now without any problems; that one I opened up to upgrade the CPU and storage).

I was just disagreeing with the position that everything Woot sells is shady.. some items are, while others are legit. You just have to read their postings carefully.

Regarding the 1TB.. that's about average for when the m1 Studio came out (March 2022).. but yeah, you'll need external storage for files. More than sufficient to run the OS and apps though. Different strokes; different folks.

Lol 1TB is average for 10+ year old laptops, though with conventional HDDs.

I was looking at that deal, but thought that M2 Mac studio can be gotten from the edu store for $1800, faster, with 2 more cores. Since, I can wait, I am looking to get the M3 at this price next year.

I'm strictly talking NVME, granted, 2TB versions existed by then and Apple was selling this as a top of the line model at over $3k. But I don't find 1TB insulting, at least if I ignore the MSRP. My gripe isn't the size, but the fact that you can't easily swap out the hard drive for a larger size if needed being that it's soldered on. For that reason alone, I don't think Apple should be cutting corners on drive sizes.

Regarding the M1 Max.. I'd call it an ok deal but not a good deal. I was actually tempted on the Ultra for the price but if the best choice is the Max with all the specs cut in half, I'm going to wait to upgrade myself.

Thanks. Yeah, I saw a few reviews that suggest the M2 Max is actually neck and neck (better at some tasks, worse in others) than the M1 Ultra. So I'm holding out for a M2 Max Mac Studio deal.

I decided to randomly check this and it popped up again. I somehow was able to buy one just now, and then it went out of stock right afterwards. Luck!

Edit: Woot cancelled my order, saying I ordered during a time they didn't have it in stock. Very disappointed Mad

I received it on Dec.22nd. I checked the serial number before I opened it, it showed the purchase date couldn't be verified. Today, I powered it up and checked the warranty in about this Mac. It shows the warranty begins from today.

Active again for those that hesitated on the ultra...

Any Mac Studio advice from people that have them?
Replacing a MacPro 3,1...It was time
The MP 3,1 has been a spectacular experience, and surprisingly relevant for my needs even now after all this time!

Was 1TB main drive enough? How do people expand storage typically? Have a synology 1815+ Im hoping to leverage.
Is 64GB or RAM enough for CAD apps like F360?

Has the fan noise I read about been possibly fixed? Or are there ways to mitigate it or have apple do something about?
Really hoping for another good experience on a budget...
