Not sure about the price point, but it's a great speaker. It's a small speaker, but still big for a desk.
While I don't doubt that these are more capable speakers, I think value per dollar that the Edifier 1280DBs speakers have to be mentioned.
At about $120 on sale, you get a 4" composite woofer with a 1/2" silk dome tweeter in a desktop friendly size. They have exceptional connectivity with a subwoofer output (that alters the crossover frequency of the main drivers for better performance), optical and RCA input, and Bluetooth.
They'd be really decent by themselves, but combined with a Dayton Audio SUB-1000L thrown under the desk, I don't believe there's anything as capable for $300 that is truly comparable (low profile, low cost, lot of inputs).

I'd say Vanatoo Transparent zero plus or (if you don't mind a little bigger speakers), Vanatoo encore one plus is better than these KEFs. They are also a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than the KEFs, and have a better after sales support.
This. I have heard these KEFs and the new Vanatoo T1E+ side by side.
The Vanatoos do require some EQ tweaks (drop 5k - 8k down a few db) but they sound better than the KEF, and you save a couple hundred bucks.
I love the pair I have on our bedroom TV. A small subwoofer will transform them.
