Have an older non-sliding 10" Hitachi that has been doing me well for a few years of homeownership. I feel like I need to step it up a little bit as I've been limited in what stock I can cut. Sliding should help a little with that.

Hmm, what to do.

I just bought a delta a few weeks ago, if I didn't need the slightly larger cut capacity, I'd be all over this one instead.

I have this same saw that I got on sale at Lowe's a couple of years ago. It's great, no complaints.

I wonder how this compares to the Bosch? That's the one I've been waiting forever for to go on sale.

Not sure why I got a deal alert for this when I'm looking for a good deal on DWS779. Is this comparable or better?

I have the Metabo 12" and it is a great saw. I got it for $165 at close out. At that price it was a no brainer. At $300 I think the choice is a little harder. If you are into lasers the shadow laser that you can retrofit on the 779 or on the 780 is really nice. I think the Dewalt looks like better quality. If the DeWalt was $450 I would go for it at these prices for the laser. If your a person that utilizes a good jig or a fence with the saw I would go for the Metabo. Hope this helps.

Decided to pull the trigger on this. Been looking for a deal on a decent miter saw so I can knock out some DIY projects this year and this seems to hit all the high notes.

Thanks OP!

That saw is already on sale. It's not one with shadowline tho. You'd want the 780 for that

Wow, for a slider? Great price. I think I spent about that much on my 12" non slider. Frankly it's almost too big for my needs. I think I'd rather have a 10" slider over both options, if I can figure out a way to do it straight across (or close) for my 12" non-slidey.

Any options for retrofitting the metabo with shadow line?
