1 year passed and just right after I requested the phone to be unlocked, they unlocked and cut me off before I got a chance to find a new carrier.

I as some talk that they were trying to get the same requirement added to the Mint purchase by T-mobile.

1 year passed and just right after I requested the phone to be unlocked, they unlocked and cut me off before I got a chance to find a new carrier.

What do you mean they "cut you off"? Did they cancel your service?
For a discounted iPhone 15 with a cheap plan, I don't know of any better deal.
Their 5GB plan at $20/month is not the cheapest but it is not massively overpriced. You can buy the same plan from ebay for $120/year around Black Friday. The regular price is $180/year.
