Any recommendations on a replacement router for a 2 story 2600 foot house with a basement and outside cameras? Comcast with 3 TV`s and landline phone. Thanks

Any decent router should be able to handle your needs.

I have a 3,600 sq. ft. house, two story with basement and this Netgear WNDR4500 [amazon.com] does the job just fine.

I would suggest a mesh system outdoor cameras can be a challenge due to the number of walls this could be a good deal.

A mesh system will give you the best coverage overall.

In hindsight, if your cameras are wireless, I would have to agree here... I have multiple cameras but they're all wired. So when I say my router covers my entire house, from a wireless standpoint it's only serving mobile devices, tablets, a couple of outdoor Chromecast Audios, etc. So it covers plenty of range but I have no idea if it could handle multiple wireless cameras. If you're using motion detection that can be pretty demanding, especially outdoors...

Forgive my lack of knowledge but how does that apply to the router? Should that affect what I should be looking for?

Yes the router will have different frequencies called bands newer phones support newer bands that are faster that is why you will see dual and triband routers.

Here is a good explanation
https://www.linksys.com/multiple-...20for%20at

I have a Galaxy S23 phone it can see and use the 6E band that my router has my Wife's Iphone can see the Wifi 6 band but not the 6E that gives me the whole band for my phone.

Triband also allows the MESH between routers to use a dedicated band rather than having to share one.

Right now I have 3 Routers in my house ( I am a BETA tester) and the one that is always picked up first and has the best signal is the MESH one. The others work and are fine but for signal around the house the Mesh one wins hands down.

If you have a cheaper phone or older laptop it probably only supports 802.11ac

The typical Router is a multi function device...it's the first device between you and your internet provider.
It's also an Ethernet switch allowing you to hard connect several devices (computers, laptops, etc. to it.)
It's ALSO a wireless access point letting your phones and tablets connect to it.

Now add on the MESH aspect of things.
The MESH is additional WiFi spots for your mobile devices.

Think of your front lawn...you "could" water your whole yard with 1 sprinkler...the grass nearest it would get the most water and the edges of the lawn...probably not enough.

So you add extra sprinklers and get great coverage over the whole lawn.

Like adding more sprinklers, you would place 2 or 3 mesh access points throughout your house and it automagically keeps your devices connected as you walk around...similar to the Cell system for ATT and Verizon as you drive around town.

A new Mesh capable router with a couple of Mesh access points would serve you well. bulb
