Azul Strategy Board Game for Ages 8 and up from Asmodee
Product Description:
BUILD A MOSAIC FIT FOR A MONARCH! THE KING WANTS YOU TO DECORATE HIS ROYAL PALACE... Azul is a tile-placement game in which players compete for the highest score by claiming tiles and arranging them on their board to score points. Extra points are on offer for collecting sets of the same color of tile or for creating particular patterns while there are penalties for taking tiles that you’re unable to use. But every tile that you claim affects what your rivals can take next. You’ll have to make choices that help you without helping them too much!

Just played AZUL with my six year old last night. He's a fierce competitor, but still lost because he's 6. But then he said "AZUL is blue in Spanish" and I was like... this kid needs more cartoons.
This is the first FUN game I've been able to play with him after years of garbage kid games. Highly recommend, I usually play with 40 somethings.
Great games both. The clicking sounds when shuffling the Azul tiles in particular is very enjoyable. If you like this kind of board game genre, it's generally called "abstract" (strategy) board games (like chess).
I bought a bunch of games during COVID. This one still gets use, and got more regular use for the adults and then 10 year old (now 14) than any other game I purchased. Highest recommendation possible.
