Not in a rush to building a pc, but slowly gathering parts to finish the build by this end of year.
Just bought the x670e motherboard thats currently on sale for $220 and pretty much has all things I want in a current gen motherboard since i figured the new gen motherboards going to cost more when it gets released with less features than the one that's on sale.
Your multitasking is probably fine with going with a cheaper Ryzen 5000 series, which the big highlight was the leap in single core IPC. This way you more than likely can retain use of your AM4 board, but double check and get the BIOS updated.
Davinci Resolve has GPU accelerated encoding, which if you aim for a nvidia GPU you'll get that and also nvenc for streaming without much performance penalty so you are decoupled from CPU. I believe photoshop is also gpu accelerated. If you're solid though on GPU and RAM (probably more important for multi tasking), then yeah take the leap to AM5 Ryzen 7000 series and maybe cannibalize the old AM4 platform for a passthrough streaming PC or NAS.

9000 series is also expected later this year and we've seen aggressive mobo bundles with the 7000 release. Depending on your appetite for resale, you could opt into the 5800x non-3D for now and resell it for probably 50 under. You are paying for the big boost now, and can still work with it if 7000/9000 doesn't offer better value later during the year.

A I've been thinking that I should go for an x3d version and just deal with a little less multithread ability on productivity. What do you think?

Ah man, I don't do any cool stuff anymore. I'm stuck with my 3600X until it stops seeming awesome for basic gaming and web browsing. 😔
Not that you asked me, but don't bother with X3D unless you want it for gaming.

If you've already got the motherboard, I would get this now and upgrade to the 16 core (or 24 core) Zen 6 when it launches in 2025 or 2026. My guess is that a 9900x will be mostly a side grade to this (slightly faster), but it will probably cost more money (since Intel likely won't have anything to compete at launch) . Regardless, you are smart to get the motherboard on sale now, as the next Gen motherboards are pretty much identical chipsets... Nothing really new.
Not too sure about the programs you use, but I upgraded last year from a 3600 to a 5800X3D and the boost in gaming was pretty substantial. It was enough of a boost that upgrading the mobo, ram, etc would've been a waste of money
Don't know why it's not getting popular because it literally is the best bang for buck motherboard in terms of i/o and 4 m.2 slots with no compromises eating into pcie or sata bandwidth.
This motherboard can also be upgraded to run usb 4 when the expansion card is released.
