There are past Slickdeals, where Walmart has the series 8 watch in red mostly but there are a few other colors for 199 to 210 with cellular.
I personally prefer stainless and I don't mind being a version (or so?) behind to get one cheaply.
If you want a new stainless 45mm watch (with its benefits) and won't miss any of the s.8 or s.9 features, this is a good way to go.
I personally have found Best Buy's open box deals (a few months after the next version is released) to be the best in the past - although they've tended to sell out quickly, but lately it seems as though they don't seem to stock nearly as many stainless ones so those deals seem even more rare than they were in the past.
Edit: for comparison, this is also available:

1st- This is new and comes w AppleCare 1yr warranty. From what I hear, they have to make it perform. Also 90 day free tech asst. Re: Battery, I would take it in and have it checked on arrival at Apple store. Better chance getting the watch to work than refund from what I read.
2nd- Apple flops prices all over the map. Currently this phone in green is $280 on Woot (link below). A lot of brand new Apple watches pop up here at lower prices. not consistent.
3rd- This phone in blue was as low as $229 on Walmart (according to Google cache).
4th- Target had watch 8 45mm cellular on sale for $330 couple weeks ago. Listed one at my store and missed it (could have been clearance). Now it's $529 shipped?!?

When I contacted Apple, they said it was something like 400 days out of warranty, and not a new item. I'm not sure what sort of scheme Amazon is pulling here, but it seems like they're trying to get money for old broken items, from people without the mental energy to go through with the return. Apparently they're even holding people's refunds for months, to do some sort of "verification" that the watch is still in some sort of condition. (Not sure why this matters, since they're all dead at that point.)
I would steer clear from this one.
