This Alienware is bigger and heavier than other 16" laptops(like the Legion 7).The power brick is bigger and heavier as well even though it's the same wattage(they haven't switched to GaN charging tech yet).
The screen is dimmer than other high end gaming laptops at only 300nits. The Legion is 500nits. Or get the Acer Predator Helios model with 250hz refresh rate(not 240hz) to get a 1000 nits miniLED screen.
It doesn't support USB-C charging, so you're stuck lugging that big brick around with you.
The battery life is terrible, even for a gaming laptop.
Also, you have to go into the BIOS to set battery charging limits, or remove the limit.
On the other hand if you're planning to keep the laptop sitting on your desk almost all the time, maybe this Alienware is a good choice. The screen will look great in a dim room; it has excellent color. The laptop has 4 video out ports for more external monitors. You can install 3 internal M.2 SSD drives. The large size and heavy weight of the laptop don't matter on a desk, and neither does the battery life. It has a Cherry-MX clicky mechanical keyboard, and a 2.5G Ethernet port.

I have the helios 16 4080 240hz. This thing is freaking loud. Should I return it and grab this? Only 100 more for this.
How is the screen? Any problems? Is there a gaming laptop you wished you would have got instead of this one
