You can't beat the price for this model. At 649 its about the same price you would pay for a HRN216VYA. The HRX217VYA is definitely an upgrade when you compare the two. I needed a new mower this year and did not hesitate to order it.

Auto stop would be nice. I have an older mower I use to gas gophers/moles/voles with. I usually remove the blade and tape the bar to keep it running. Have some kids and neighbors do to.

I just received mine today, package looked like it was never opened although it did have the green sticker on it. I saw the base model #HRN216VKAD for $549 in store and those all looked like they were resealed. For $100 this seemed worth it for me as I was already planning on getting the cheaper model and this added 2 more years of warranty, more cc, nexite body, blade stop and select drive. I look forward to testing it out this weekend.

I have the auto stop one. It's great. The Honda mowers are so much better than anything else I've ever used

After using an Ego for the past 5 years, I just ordered the Honda. We have a large yard with lots of leaves. I liked the Ego in general but never really liked the cut and often had to mow areas twice for it to look satisfactory. Not looking forward to the maintenance but hope the mower is better...

I just got mine today, Green dot on box but no punch next to number on part. However, the punch by the number for what was repaired/replaced is a "general purpose engine" , which has its own serial number, and this serial number was not affected by the recall. I checked this part on the list ran both serial numbers on Honda site and they were not affected. Cant wait to use it next week !!!
