Most of those signs are outdated.... Class I & 2 ebikes are allowed in most states and are considered non motorized vehicles.....don't be a snob, we need to coexist, they are all bicycles.
Not nearly as many from cars
For me, 68years old, I was ghost peddling at 14 MPH. Since most bike now use standard parts I was able to put on a 52 tooth chain ring.. 14 MPH is my comfort speed I keep it in gear 5 now with no ghost peddling.

Thank you for sharing! Was it hard to remove the locking grips and did they fit on the new handlebar? Would you share a final result perhaps? I agree that flat is not comfortable for longer rides.
It was a bit hard removing the grips. They seem like they were glued on. I had to use a wide wrench and opened jaw to fit the size of handlebar and banged on it remove handle grips. The rest were easy.

Here's the answer from Senada on how to program throttle for full power in all PAS levels:

"Regarding the throttle speed, you can try to adjust the P05 setting per your riding habit.

Steps for checking/changing the parameters to the original factory settings:

1. Press "+" and "-" at the same time to enter setting mode;
2. In the setting mode, it automatically shows the parameter P1, you can press "M" to go to P2, or press "+" or "-" to adjust the number;
3. Change all the parameters to the factory settings following the info below;
4. Press "+" and "-" at the same time to save the changes;
5. Restart the system after the change.

P05--0000 (3 PAS levels)
P05--0001 (5 PAS levels)
P05--0002 (9 PAS levels)

* Please note, that when set to 3 and 9 PAS levels, the bike has the top speed on each PAS level. When set to 5 PAS levels, the throttle speed will increase when set to a higher PAS level.

If you want the throttle to have the top speed in each PAS level, you can try to adjust the P05 setting to 3 or 9 PAS levels based on your riding habit."

Rode for the first time today, smooth ride, the seat I can tell would hurt on long rides. I decided to throttle it at 17-20 mph for the entire 12 mile ride today to test the battery. It was dead by the end. Not sure how long the battery should last on a flat gravel road. But thought I'd get a little more out of it. EDIT: I'm about 165 lbs for reference.

I just received this answer from Senada and was about to post this as well. I tried this today and did not enjoy it. Whether you're on 3 or 9, all it does is allow the bike to have full power on throttle and pas mode. For example, when I'm on pas 1, when I start pedaling I will reach 24.9 mph. It allows you to full throttle as well. This is for all pas levels 1-3 and 1-9. I want to be able to keep pas level 5 (p05-0001) with pas restrictions, with access to full throttle. So if I'm on pas 2 with 12 mph restriction, I want access to full throttle to get past 12. This allows me to bike normal without major power taking me to 24.9 mph, but also allow me to throttle out of 12 mph for fun, situations, etc.

If anyone know of a way to unlock full throttle while on pas level 1-4, please let me know.

Bought 2, noticed my gears click every so often, I'm not stressing. It sounds like my wife's back tire may be slightly rubbing on the brakes or the shield. It's very minimal so I'm not stressing that either. On my bike if I have the pas on 1 it'll let me go full speed at full throttle.
If you're on pas 1, are you restricted to 7 mph while pedaling?

I want to be restricted on pas level on pedaling only, but want access to full throttle.

Do you know what setting allowed your bike to have access to full throttle on pas level 1?

I tried p05–000 and p05-0002 and it allowed me full access to full throttle, however, there was no restriction on pedaling. So this means when I pedal, I go all the way to 24.9 mph as well.

This thing is a hoot. Gets up to 25 mph no problem on flat ground (I weigh 230lbs btw). I've only ridden it 4 miles so far mostly throttle but some pedal assist and it still shows full charge so the 18-25 mile range might be accurate.

Only negative I have aside from the chain noise and ghost pedaling us that the brakes suck. Maybe I'm just not used to stopping a 60+lbs bike but throughout my entire time using bikes I've only ever used the rear brakes. Even at full press from 20mph + it takes my bike 25-30 feet to stop for sure.

Maybe I need to tweak them?

Otherwise this thing is awesome. 500ish bucks for this is unbelievable.

Been riding it more and I found that pedal assist 1-2 are great if I want to pedal. I also set P11 pedal sensitivity to 1 from 3 which I think makes it feel a lot more natural. At 3 it felt like I just touched the pedals and it would take off.

I'm 265'bs and it's waaay faster than I care for on flat ground. I've been mostly keeping it on 1-2 and occasionally jump to 5 and throttle it for shits and giggles.

I also tried replacing the seat but that was a fail. I got a big wide seat that's pretty comfortable and was able to swap it. However the hardware on the new seat is different so while I can mount it on the OEM post. I can't lift the seat (not enough space to lift the lever enough to open it) and I can't adjust tilt because not enough space between the frame bars.

Taking out the seat is super easy, so I'm panning on getting a suspension post now for the new seat. Would lose the lift function, but would gain being able to position the seat and suspension. Worth it for me. We'll see how that goes.

Rode 17.1 miles today (from Culver City, CA to Santa Monica Pier) and pedaled about 15 of them. Mostly was in 2 but occasionally got to 3. I wish there was a lower pedal speed though so I'm not ghost pedaling at higher speeds. Anything above 3 (or 12mph) is pushing it with pedaling on here. My legs and body are tired but it was fun. Got some good fish and chips as well. Great bike though and don't regret it at all. Battery still shows full on the screen which annoys me (I wish it had a "remaining mileage" estimation instead).

edit: this bike might be technically illegal in california?

Quote :
Here's where it gets confusing. Class 3 ebikes can go up to 28 miles per hour and must have a speedometer, but they may or may not have a throttle. It depends on the state writing the rules. California, for example, doesn't allow Class 3 ebikes to have throttles at all. In other states, throttles are allowed as long as they only work up to 20 miles per hour, while pedal-assisted electric power continues up to 28 miles per hour. Most states let you take a Class 3 ebike into road lanes or a bike-only lane on the shoulder of the road (so-called curb-to-curb). But you can't take them on bike paths or on multi-use trails shared with pedestrians, like in a park.

So I bought 2 bikes. On one bike, its been chugging along just fine over 100 miles now... On the other, I kept on losing tire pressure (about 60 miles into it). And sure enough, there's a rip. I just ordered a replacement tire tube @ AMZN... will keep y'all posted.
I just rode about 30miles and my back tire had a rip and went flat. Which tubes did you buy on AMZN? is it easy to replace?

I wish I had taken pics of the bike as the tire was being replaced... but it was fairly straightforward if you've done rear tire change on a regular bike before.

But it was a pain to get the bike upside down since it's not as balanced as reg bike and also heavy even without the battery. Had to use 2x4 blocks to prop the handlebars so the screen wouldnt get damaged. Also used milkcrate to prop between the seat and rear rack to keep it stable.

Unplug the motor wire, remove the two 18mm nuts, and had to use 10mm wrench to slightly wiggle the carrier bolt to get the wheel out of the frame. I also removed the rear brake caliper to make it easy to put the wheel back in.

Tubes I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09DCXHZ3W (search for B09DCXHZ3W to those with adblockers). I would recommend buying tubes with longer valve stem. This works but shorter stem than OEM.

Tire: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CPPD3Q2F/ (search for B0CPPD3Q2F)

*edit: had to buy new tire as well since my son dragged the bike home and damaged the tire. He said the rear tire locked up so couldnt be rolled. Not entirely sure if thats the case though...

I suggest adding flat out to your tires. I did for mine. Just don't inflate too much in the beginning or it'll over expand. I had it at 20 psi for a day and rode a bit, then brought it 30 psi. When I originally filled it at 40 psi after adding flat out, my tire expanded and almost popped.

I also adjusted P11 to 1 from 3 and the ghost peddaling was reduced greatly.

I'm now going at 27.4mph comfortably after changing P6 to 22.

Hope all this info helps everyone.

Not sure that stuff works with inner tube tires.

Maybe I was looking at the wrong stuff. Could have sworn it said no inner tubes somewhere.
