Why doesn't Milwaukee, Dewalt, or Makita make this? The ryobi green in a cooler shape is even uglier than normal. But I want it for the functionality - do any other big tool makers have something comparable at a better price? If so, I have not seen it.
Does this thing actually have a compressor? Or it is just a pimped out Peltier cooler?
Yes, has a compressor. Reviews mention hearing that it kicks on and when it does the light doesn't work. Not sure if that last part is accurate, but it does have a compressor
I like how this has the battery option for powering but even with the 8-10 ryobi batteries I have it would be hard for me to justify the 400 sale price on it. I bought a 12v powered cooler from costco and a separate power station off amazon and it was still 100 less than this sale price cooler in total and mine looks to be larger in size too since there is no need for the battery slots on the top which takes 1/3 of the cooler.
I think if the price were around 250-300 it might be more justified imo. I guess if price wasnt an issue I'd totally buy it just to add to my ryobi collection though lol
23h on two 9ah batteries. So, in addition to the cost of the cooler, It's going to be $300 for each day of cooling. To get the same as a 7-day cooler with $10 in ice, you're going to need $2100 in batteries.
I'd rather buy a 24-Qt 12V portable fridge for $170 and spend $230 on an 500Wh power station. I can't justify the $400 ticker price of this Ryobi cooler neither.

Listing says 23 hours with two 9Ah batteries, one of the comments says real-life usage gets them 7 hours from each 9 Ah battery.
