Very nice. Can confirm all are Movies Anywhere eligible. Showed up immediately on my MA account after purchase.

Thanks, OP!
just proved how the digital assets are worthless!
AMAZING that they can revert everything - everywhere (I noticed being Moviews anywhere the movies were registered on my account) - just vanished after order cancellation.

It means - if it comes to - the digital asset lords can also make your other digital assets make vanish overnight! eye opener.

Amazon is losing its charm, not the same company we used to like anymore.
This episode proved it one more time.

In some jurisdictions once the seller has accepted payment and delivered the product, a binding contract is formed. If the customer has already paid and received the item, the seller cannot unilaterally take it back without legal consequences.

If anyone has success in 'sticking it to the man' let me know. I would love to see someone make a company regret treating their customers like dirt and having no respect for consumer protection.

I am no lawyer, but I believe online purchases\not in store purchases are not applicable for this as price mistakes online do not count the same way as if you went to a store and purchased an item. Online merchants have mistakes all the time and cancel orders because of it all the time. They can choose to honor a mistake or not. If you were a merchant, you can certainly understand that you do not want to take a hit because some idiot programmer off shore made a mistake in some database.

The strange thing about this is that in the past (like a few years back) when Amazon screwed up discounts on cameras during Prime Day and literally cameras and lens worth many hundreds+ of dollars were being offered for like $100, they honored it anyway (probably because they did not want to take the PR heat on Prime Day). Here, they nickel and dime you over some old streaming media movies likely not really worth more than $5 each in reality. It is what it is imo.

My 2 cents.

The cancellation is a real bummer.

Imagine all the people who haven't seen the cancellation email yet and go order a couple of heavy, bulky boxes of popcorn. Those people would have to return the popcorn (on Amazon's dime, of course) and their reason would be "You cancelled my movies so I no longer need this popcorn."

The shipping would have to set them back a decent chunk of what they'd have to spend on the movies. I guess someone at Amazon figured it's cheaper to have a bunch of popcorn returns than eat the cost of their mistake.

Again, a real bummer.

I got an email for each order informing me that -

The posted price was incorrect and therefore, we've cancelled your order for this item. You have not been charged.

Simpler than that: we didn't purchase anything. Streaming media is always just the "rights" to view, and those rights can be revoked at any time. It's part of the same contract the person you responded to, who wants to enforce the contract (lol), signed

Pardon me while I laugh. The contract to which you refer is the same contract that says we're not paying for anything other than the "right" to view the movie on Amazon's terms; rights that can be revoked at any time. Stick to your not-a-lawyer day job.

I contacted Amazon help. Clicked on Chat with an Associate (after dealing with the bot for a while).

I got all of yesterday's free movies reinstated. You should try that. A call may work, too.
I figured it out and spent 2 hours on chat with 4 different support helpers and got nowhere...

Incredible! Amazon just reversed the purchase and no longer in MA account! How can they do that 🤬!

The same way I'm going to go through all the things I've bought from them and regret the price I agreed to. I'll send them a notice that says they were all "unfortunately a 'purchase mistake'" and inform them I'm reversing all THOSE purchases. I could buy a vacation home with the money.

I guess Amazon isn't already getting enough bad press after raising Prime so high, changing from two-day to "whenever," and then now forcing commercials into the video service. Never thought I'd consider dropping Prime but coming very close with each day.
