Quite a bit higher cost per gram of protein than this other active deal, but a smaller package.

Math:
3.27¢/g Protein - Optimum Nutrition Whey Blend (Isolate > Concentrate)Price: $22.79 for 2 lbs.10.8% of Protein is Leucine77.4% of mass is Protein80% of calories are Protein
Cost per pound is good for a "quick look", but you have to look deeper than that. Manufacturers manipulate it to fool you.

Example:
- MyProtein Whey Protein Isolate claims to be 88% protein by mass, or 400g of protein per pound.
- ON Gold Standard claims to be 75% protein by mass, or 340g of protein per pound.

So, MyP at $11/lb provides more protein per dollar than ON at $10/lb.

That said, no protein will be a good deal at $13/lb, and most will be a good deal at $8, so it's still good for estimating.

Isopure is the worst for this. 100% of calories are from protein, but only 80% of mass. They intentionally add non-caloric fillers to bring down the cost per pound.

The MyProtein deal from a day or two ago would have worked - they sell Casein. Nobody posted it as a deal on that sale, but it probably was on sale.

New World Nutritionals sells Casein, I haven't run the numbers on it, but they are usually pretty cheap (although some people don't trust the company): https://www.ebay.com/itm/282240604011

Also, there is this, but it can't be posted as a deal because it has too few Amazon reviews, breaking SD rules:

My 2c is nay on this deal.

There are better protein powder deals available now, and more will likely be coming.

Unless you specifically want a small quantity of weird-flavor ON Gold Standard, I don't see buying this.

I appreciate the help on this, I'm just trying to look for a protein powder that's going to provide me with healthy ingredients. It's hard for me as I've never been guided to the right source and every time I start on a product, a few days later I hear something negative on it. I've been on the Organic Protein Costco sells and I guess it's not so great after all. And again, thanks for the heads up, you saved me.

Warning: about to rant...

Bad news. Any product in this space will have people bashing it. Sometimes for good reason - the supplement industry is unregulated and it's really the wild west out there in terms of safety and truthfulness.

There is no way to tell what vendors are honest and who is not, and if their claims are true, short of having your own chemical analysis lab. Even if it's the right product for you, at a good price, there is no guarantee the vendor is actually giving you what they say they are.

Some say the big brands like ON and Isopure are more honest, but I don't buy that logic at all - they're all equally likely to be dishonest or honest. Some have third party testing, from labs paid for by the industry, so that's not worth much - they won't pay a lab that will fail them.

Sorry to be a downer, but that's just the state of the industry. If you need more protein, the best way to make sure you are actually getting it is to eat whole food. As much lean, high protein food as you can, using the powders only as a supplement if that isn't working for you. At least when you eat milk, eggs, chicken, or tuna, you are certain that the product is what it claims to be.

Vegans have it especially tough. It is very hard to have a high protein vegan diet on mostly whole/unprocessed food.

I try not to eat more than a 30-40g of protein a day from powder, usually if I don't have time to make a real meal. Then, I figure they are all dishonest, so I usually just buy one that has a low cost per gram of protein, and is close to "pure protein" without many extra calories/ingredients.
