I was looking at Solo Stoves on Costco and saw this Tiki model. I don't see it on the Tiki website. They seem to have transitioned from rectangular to circular firepits entirely. Good reviews overall on homedepot.com [homedepot.com]. Amazon [amazon.com] is selling it for $235.

I have a solo stove and the large round Tiki brand fire pit and I greatly prefer my Tiki brand. If this smaller rectangle version has the same build quality as their larger circle version, this is a steal for $100!

For those without a Costco membership or for those wanting a cover for their pit, Camping World has the same model on sale for $130 with cover. LINK [campingworld.com]

FYI The area of the Tiki fire pit is 311.75" vs. 298.5" for the solo stove bonfire.

Disregard the note about the cover. The Costco one has the cover too. I overlooked it. Still an alternative for people without a Costco membership though!

can you say more about why you prefer tiki over solo stove? i have solo stove bonfire for a few years now happy with it, aside from all the discoloration but I'm not gently with it. It sits outside in all weather uncovered, and I burn whatever falls in my yard and trees/branches I've cut down

This one look like you can use on a deck since it has own stand but I would recommend a spark screen. They sell it separately around $69-$70.

Got this for $85 back in February from campingworld website. Very good, almost smoke less pit. It's got some weight to it for it's size, heavy duty built though. Might be a bit heavy for some to call it portable. Smaller footprint than traditional fit pit, but once ya get it going , tall flames and good heat radius. Overall I think it's a great buy, very happy with it.

Yes. I love starting the pellets with a chimney stack and then adding real wood (or more pellets) as required

I bought the solo bonfire 2 essentials combo which came with a free pellet adapter but not with screen or deflector for $270 out the door but this looks tempting at $190 out the door which includes the screen and deflector. What do yall think?

I think so. This has good reviews overall. As long as you are okay with the size and square shape, feels like $190 for the lot is a good deal. I bit.

I don't have a shredder and am considering burning my documents that I won't throw away. However paper produces so much smoke and I would hate to smoke up the neighbors. How effective is the "smokeless" technology of these various fire pits.

paper ash would probably float everywhere at the slightest wind unless you had a wire mesh cover to contain it. This is only smokeless when the fire is raging hot, so if you're going to do paper only, it'll probably smoke and make a big mess of ash all over the place.

I think they might even recommend pellets for this. Tiki sells a fire pack which is a paper bag filled with pellets and some chemical firestarter. I have this fire pit. I usually try to recreate their bags with a paper bag and gel firestarter.
