Extended oil changes like 10k on newer cars with low compression piston rings is not a good idea. I'd stick to 5k mile oil changes.
Engineers are not perfect. My wife is on her second engine in a Mercedes C300, dealer maintained since new, engine replaced at 77k miles. 10k mile oil change intervals. Cylinder 1 wrist pin fails on the M274 all the time. Seems to be less frequent for those who change oil more regularly. Anecdotal, but, to say engineers know best is not always true.

That stinks. Yeah I agree I see this pop up here and there. I don't think it's as good as when they're running the rebate. But kind of nice if you just need some bulk without dealing with the rebate process.
Solid deal given current prices. I wouldn't trust it for 10,000 miles as claimed. But the Euro blend is Porsche approved. My grandpa was an Air Force mechanic, and he also reiterated that clean, cheap oil is better than dirty, fancy/expensive oil.
This is good price for Mobil 1 (for the varieties posted here) if you care for really good oil. It is $21.xx for 5 quarts average and I am sure this beats the Costco price. Irrespective of what oil you choose, I would strongly advise against 10k oil changes but stick to 5k - 6k to play it safe. If you have a high mileage vehicle with a good oil filter, you can skip changing the filter and change only in alternate oil changes.

2014 Camry hybrid...did the factory recommended 10k oil/20k oil filter its whole life, and just sold it at 171k miles. The most dependable car I've ever owned.
