BONUS1500 Promo code during account creation to be eligible. I've personally just gone through this today, and the promo was auto-applied, showing in top banner of each page as I went through the signup. They almost caught me to create a new Savings account too with a single click, but skipped that one. On the following screen it showed me my new account and routing numbers, along with the promo details, the code and terms listed yet again.
No published expiry date at this time.

Qualifying deposit will be judged by the balance in your account from days 15-105 of account opening. For example, if you had funded the account with $50 on day 2, but then transferred $99,950 on day 14, you're eligible for $1500 bonus back in your account by day 165 of account opening. Alternatively, if you added $20,001 on day 2 and left it there until withdrawing $2 on day 104, you will receive a $0 bonus.

Surprised that nobody in this thread even understands what's going on. For $20,000, 4.35% APY over 3 months is $217.50, however you're also getting a $300 bonus, so you're getting $517.50 for 3 months. That equates to10.35% APY.

This is the same for the other deposit amounts.
Doesn't look like it if you currently have one.
They clearly address that at the beginning of the footnotes at bottom of main deal page, listing multiple account types open with them "on or after January 1, 2022" as making you ineligible for this offer. I'd encourage all to RTFM for straightforward questions like these.
There are quite a few other High Yield Savings Accounts that don't have such restrictions and have higher rates of return. Here's a list I compiled this morning:

APY
Amex: 4.35
Sofi: 4.6, $300 bonus direct deposit
Synchrony: 4.75
Wealthfront: 5.00 (get .5 bonus for 3 months if you refer a friend)
Citbank: 5.05 (5k minimum deposit)
Texas capital: 5.1
Everbank: 5.15
Ufb direct: 5.25
Western alliance: 5.36

For 100k you would earn $5,360 per year at Western versus $4,350 + 1500 = $5,850 with the Capital One deal. If you have less than 100k to invest the other options are better.

I think this is good for me. I gots millions so i need to spread it around for fdic protection plus 1500 free works for me. I am constantly bothered by wealth management divisions at all the brokerages i do business at but manage my own money.
So let me get this straight, you "have millions" and you're on SD and you're commenting on CVS toothpaste deals and Drano at Amazon? BTW, my grandmother was Elizabeth Taylor.

Fidelity's yield is after the expense, not before. It's a money market fund, just as you'd see at other investment firms. The default investment for cash deposits is SPAXX (~4.96%).

4.35% is so low, and your money is essentially locked in the account for months or you'll lose your bonus if you move it.
...That's how savings bonuses usually work. You have to hold it a certain amount of time to get a bonus.

What's the alternative? Another savings account where it's about 5.0% and no bonus?

Great offer. This is a much better deal than any CD or high interest account.

If you deposit $50k for 90 days that's around $535 interest
$535 + $750 = $1285 which is more than a 10% return

After a few rereads, I prefer your interpretation of their terms - better safe than sorry! I've revised my scenarios to better reflect, if you wouldn't mind having another look and respond back if our understanding is better aligned?

Will help to derisk for some and avoid losing the bonus they were expecting due to any loophoes!

Still waaaaaay better than vast majority of competing accounts. And you can move your money out at any time. The 4.35% is essentially a standard for the account, rather than tied to the initial promo bonus.
Almost every brokerage money market is over 5%. Vanguard is around 5.25%

I took advantage of this offer last year and it performed as advertised. Here is a tutorial I viewed before making my investment:

I've done a couple of these savings bonuses and you have to pay extra attention to the T&C's -- they are offering these type of promo's hoping you screw up and they can avoid the bonus -- looking at you Wells Fargo.

I took advantage of this offer in December. Opened on 12/6, Moved funds out on 3/22. Bonus paid on 3/26.

Move your funds as quickly as possible -- bank transfers take a while -- make sure it clears during the 15-day funding period. Set a calendar reminder 106 days (1 extra day just to be sure) from the opening date. Then you know exactly when you can move your funds and still get the bonus.

This reminds me of when I was asked why I shop at discount grocery store when I was driving what I was driving. My response was I'm not shopping at that store because I have this vehicle, I have this vehicle because I shop at this store.

The savings and spending habits of those that reach a good level of wealth don't necessarily evaporate when they hit a certain dollar threshold. There's attaining the level, then there's growing and maintaining the level after that.

TLDR: I am absolutely unsurprised those with $1M+ would be Slickdealers, it is that mindset that gets many there.
