Anyone else able to stack b3g3 with the sale price? I wonder if it's a regional promo. Thanks.
Ad said "50% discount taken off each item". So $2.29 is the price after buy 3 get 3 free.

For clarification: each bag is 4.58 per. They are very schemey when they do this. I'll tell u why… on the website the price says 2.29 per and it's Also BYGY as well. so I call the Lowe's in my area. I got it confirmed over the phone that the price is 2.29 and you can buy 50 and get 50 or however many you want. Then I called again and talked to another team member because I wanted it to be Chrystal clear on the price and they confirmed that it would be about 1.15 per bag. So I drove 25 miles to be told that it would not be the price. It's 2.29 per bag and they do the sale because it's the only way the computer will calculate it. Blah blah ect.
Best believe I walked out of there with 60 bags @1.15 per bag. Don't get played people.

Misleading marketing practice by Lowes.

This might be a stupid question but, has anyone used this as topsoil for a lawn?
Not stupid at all, I'm actually going to do this and checked with the sod/seed supplier/grower if it's ok to use.

I'd recommend a finer compost spreader. Lots of wood chips, rocks and other non soil stuff that would prevent good emerging grass seed growth.

I get way more of "crap" in this 0.75 cubic foot bag vs other brands. Just used a spreader today and got a pile of wood chips/rocks etc.. that my spreader trapped. Dumped it out, weighed about 3 pounds.

Used Topsoil from 2 other brands sold at Home Depot and Lowes. the 1 cubic foot bag from Lowes had significantly less "crap". maybe less than half a pound.
The 1.5 cubic foot bag from Home Depot had slightly more, maybe a pound.
But the miraclegro one was just terrible .. had 6 bags spread with too much junk left in the spreader.

Thanks for saying this. I guess the only stupid question is the one not asked.

Potting mix is more porous, draining water ability. Soil in ground mix has real soil and no or minimal drainage capability. Potting mix has minimal soil content, its peet moss and other fertilizers.

Thanks so much this was quite helpful!

Yeah I've seen the "crap" in these bags, you are definitely right about that, but I like how they come in small .75cu.ft bags. I can open the top a third of the way, hold the bag with one hand/arm and use my other hand to tap the bottom of the opening of the bag to nudge the soil out. Works ok for me, just used a push broom to flatten and distribute the top dressing more evenly.
