Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G tablet at Metro for $49.99. Add it as a second line with minimum $20 data plan. I'm just ordered mine few minutes ago. it was showing OOS until last night but it became available this morning. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. don't really need it but why not at this price. Total paid $75 with $20 data plan and $4.xx taxes.

FYI - for those not aware - you'd need to have an existing Metro account to be able to purchase this tablet (or any other device as a second/additional line. Like any other Metro phones, this tablet purchase is prepaid, and so you are not locked into any kind of contract. You only need to pay for the tablet and first month of data plan. Then you are free to cancel the service, keep the tablet just as a regular wifi device. This is my first time buying a Metro tablet but I'm still hoping it will unlock after 6 months just like any other Metro phone.

Warning ? ️ - try not to go to Metro stores. They are in general scammers and will try their best to treat you like a fool and steal your money by forced up selling and forced mandatory accessories, exorbitant taxes, and insurance with or without your consent. Try ordering online. You've been warned ??????
Also, if you buy online, there's no activation fees and tax applies to the discounted price. You'll save yourself good cash and respect and a way better deal if you order online.

I think you should put not 49.99 price in the title but 69.99 as a new line of 20 bucks is required.
Saw it added to their website yesterday but it was not in stock.
Called to order through customer service but order didn't go through.

Tried again on the website and was able to order one just now.

Better than buying the Costco WI-FI only version for double the price!
Don't ask me how I know this...

You're getting that reply because your browser couldn't connect to the authentication server Metro uses.

Could be an adblocker, host file, etc. Or even your ISP could be doing it.

The simple answer is to turn off any and all adblockers, script blockers etc.

When everything is working correctly you'll see three challenge questions to authenticate your identity.

And before you say it, yes they do this even if you've already logged in with your Metro account to purchase the tablet. It seems they do the three challenge questions on every order regardless of whether you're already a customer or not.

To sum it up, you need to find what's blocking the connection to that authentication server. I found that turning off all adblocking etc, and opening an incognito tab on my phone, which had WIFI off, and connecting through my mobile network fixed this problem several times.

Good luck

So if I picked up a Moto stylus 5g from metro 6months ago with just 1 month of payment, currently not paying. Does that count as "currently have metro"?

What if I'm currently NOT a metro customer? Can I open a line and get this at the same time? I'm with tmobile at the moment.

Not sure if you can get both on the same day online, but from previous experience at Metro stores, you might be bale to get both at the same time in a store. But the stores kill the deal and kill a little bit of the person inside with their nefarious attitudes.

How long do you need to keep the data plan? Since I'm not currently a T-mobile customer, says I need to go to a store to complete the transaction.

You don't need to be a T mobile customer.

You need to be a Metro by T mobile customer.

Two different things.

Tried ordering online multiple different ways (wifi on computer, data on metro phone, incognito, different browsers, etc.), but keep getting error: "Your security is important to us. Unfortunately can't complete your order online. Our award-winning Mobile Experts are ready to assist you. Please call us or visit a store to continue." Called and agent wasn't able to process multiple orders as well. Suggested going into the store and said I wouldn't be charged anything additional. Not sure how going to a store would be any different to be able to place an order for me. Any suggestions?
Just order it with the online chat. That's what I just did and got the order confirmation.

Nope. Since you won't be able to login to your account, I see no way of adding a line with this tablet.

I'm not sure how accurate is this blocking info, but from my experience, it seems to be a server side issue, rather a restriction/policy issue. I have tried almost every possible client side ways to order - incognito mode, new browser profile, different browsers, different devices, no ad blocks, VPN, newly factory reset devices, and non of them worked. Only way it worked for.me was to get Back office to clear my supposedly incomplete pending order. Also when I placed my order today ,I didn't have to do anything special on my end. Used my regular desktop Chrome with millions of tabs and extensions including ad blockers enabled. There was no verification of any kind. Simply logged in, clicked on add a line link, selected tablet and $20 plan, then submitted order.

Exactly. You will need to have an active line to be able add another line.

I'm sure times have changed but I could never buy another Galaxy Tab. I bought a Galaxy Tab 10.1 way back in the day and that thing was so ridiculously underpowered. Wasn't cheap either! Fool me once...

Your comparing a tablet from 2011 ???

My account was suspended due to one month being up for my first line, i was able to extend for 72 hours and add this tablet. Hope it ships.

How long did it take after doing the extension ?

I did the same but the add to cart button is still greyed out on the tablet..

I got in on the A7 lite deal. Was hoping to add a line using this tablet but says I'm not eligible. Looks like only cellphone lines are able to take advantage of this deal?

Since metro is prepaid, can't I resume my account by paying another month or something?

I have the 128GB/8GB model, and it's very responsive.

I don't doubt you. This error is peculiar.

I've seen this error come and go several times, but in every instance I've come across it was the challenge questions that were not being displayed.

Each of these orders that I've encountered that were failing and getting this error, went through after the three questions were displayed.

I've never tried calling them to fix this problem because in my experience problems in authenticating identity is something customer service is trained not to reveal to the "customer". This is because it may be someone trying to get information to help them "hack/bypass" the system.

The problem may be multifaceted, the server may be erroring because of the "pending" orders, etc, or maybe the inability to connect with the challenge server is originating on their end.
