The passive sound is amazing when wearing them outside the house. I can still clearly hear everything that's going on around me while walking the dogs or grabbing groceries. This was the goal with this model when I initially purchased them. I liked it so much I bought a backup pair in white.
Inside, it's even better. I wear them a lot while laptop gaming on the couch when my partner and I are passively watching tv. I can still have a conversation and hear whatever is on the tv while also having game audio.
Battery life is pretty damn good. They haven't died on me during use yet, and I've had some pretty long stretches wearing them (4-6 hours) continually.
Cons:
The fit. Man, these are one of the most polarizing styles I've ever seen. My partner and my son both can't get a good fit no matter what wing tips we put on them. I have pretty standard ass ear holes so it's not an issue, but if you have tiny ports, they may not be stay in.
No wireless charging... seriously, it's the 2020's everything should have wireless charging at this point.
Sound quality. I mainly use them for things I'm not too interested in a audiophile experience with. If this were to be my daily driver I'd be dissapointed about the sound profile. Thankfully they're not. If I need that, I move to the XM3's or XM4's or Bud's Pro's or Bud's Pro 2's.... this may be a problem. Dammit SlickDeals.
Anyways, feel free to AMA.
Cheers,
Vulgar
The Samsung live buds (beans) are the only best game in town still for the open style. Have a few pairs and everyone at home loves those. Get them if you haven't.

Maybe you can help. I'm looking for an inexpensive set of earbuds for my 14yr old to wear to school. He loses everything so the set of AirPods I gave him (my old ones) I don't allow to go to school with him. I would like them to be $40 or less but be durable enough to use for at least a couple of months.

I have the Samsung Beans and I hate them. A little bit of sweat and they fall out of my ears. The audio is crap too in my opinion. My ancient Jabra Elite Sport from 6 years ago are/were so much better in every way possible aside from connectivity.
