$100 more....self propelled and one 6ah battery 🔋

I have last year's model (two 2.5) and was extremely impressed.....though I wish I had the 6ah

That is a good buy, primarily for the 6 Ah battery (I wonder if "6 Ah" is a typo, elsewhere in the ad they mention 5 Ah). The mower is a rebranded version of the older single port GW model. Nothing wrong with that, the latest GW has a better handle and controls. I don't see a "Turbo" button option on the Kobalt. Turbo mode does a better job of mulching, with more vacuum/lift power.

One major issue is that the Kobalt has a 3 year battery warranty, the Costco/GW has 8 years on the batteries.

Also, the Kobalt and GW battery/charger platforms can be modified to be cross-compatible with a DIY user modification..

Very good points on everything, no turbo too.

the 6ah is not a typo.

I got the Kobalt here from Lowe's for $299 so I can't complain about the one port. Does a half acre on one battery with 100% self propelled. The next battery is ready and it is an easy swap so works near seamless.

Great deal @ $299! At $499, I'd wait to see what Costco has to offer on their next sale price.

When I bought (3 years ago) I came with two 4 Ah batteries. The last time I looked, it now has one 4 Ah and one 2 Ah.

This one has one 4.0Ah battery and is the same price. One 4.0 battery seems like a better option vs two of the 2.0 batteries, at least for me, since I already own another battery.

This is the older model, I bought one in 2019. It is a good solid push mower, but I sold it and bought the latest from Costco (self propelled, dual battery ports, newer design with turbo speed and better handle and controls).

The biggest drawback here is the 2.0 Ah batteries. I've had 3 or 4 go dead in the past few years, they don't seem to hold up well in high amp draw tools. Two were replaced N/C and two were too old and were discarded.

If you can swing the Costco model, I think it will be on sale in April for $499 with a 4 Ah and a 2 Ah battery, plus an extra blade. When I bought, Costco extended the battery warranty for 4 extra years for a total of 8 years. I believe that is still current.

Is there a link for that one? I'm trying to find it.

Why should I get one of these vs a Ryobi when I already have batteries for that and I can use the adapters to use my Ridgid batteries?

legit question - I'm not trolling

I'm not familiar with the Ryobi, so I can't give a legit answer. What voltage is the Ryobi? What is the cutting width? Is it self-propelled or push? Which model Ryobi? What is the Ah rating of the batteries? What is the size of your lawn? What type of grass?

Too many unknowns to answer. Generally speaking, I'd want at least a 60V platform (preferably 80V) as the mowers are a high draw tool, especially if self propelled.. the Ah rating of the batteries determines the potential runtime, as well as the voltage.

More info might provide a better answer.

Lowes will not take it back if you use it and do not like it. I do not think Home Depot will either.

80V?!?! That's like cutting my yard with 2 40V mowers at the same time. More power = better… no?
