Throw away the MyQ and get this.
Why don't people like myQ? I've had mine almost 4 years and it's been rock solid.
I hate myQ and wanted to like this but it requires running wires from the opener all the way down the track and to the door for the sensor.

I'm not sure I understand the difference between models MSG100HK and MSG200HK. Is the model 200HK only if your wifi signal is weak? Or there more to it?

Also there are reviews that say it doesn't work with Android Auto and some say it works. Anyone here have experience with it using Android Auto?

Here is one of the reviews:

Ok here's my honest review the Remote opener worked perfectly was a breeze to set up with Apple home worked absolutely great UNTIL
I went to use the APPLE CARPLAY app well here's the problem if you have wireless Apple CarPlay in your car then it uses Wifi to connect to it so my home network drops out immediately when I start the car all I have is low cellular service in my garage so now the Remote opener will not work because the wifi link has been dropped for wireless CarPlay
Tried to do workarounds but too damn frustrating so unfortunately had to send it back
If you have wired CarPlay it works perfectly
Anyway hope this helps
Other than that it's perfect

I bought this last time and it's been working pretty well for me.

If you do get this, I would mount the sensor & magnet closer to the corners of the garage door. I mounted on the side in the middle of the garage door like an idiot and when it gets really windy, it shakes my garage door and triggers a bunch of open/close notifications

Honestly, running the wire isn't that bad. So much better than having batteries run out in the middle of winter and then your door starts tripping
Yeah. Wireless is an unnecessary feature and point of failure for this.

saw so many reviews saying this is an easy install and a no brainier.

Nope.

Works at the end, but only if you are lucky or technically problem solving
No brainer doesn't mean someone with zero skills or intelligence can do it.

My opener is SO old the 80s want it back. I have a Genie that uses dip switches. Any chance it will work with it?
No idea. But from a security standpoint, you want that opener replaced.

i dont see this on my carplay screen. I do ask siri to open the garage.

You see a button?
Once you have the opener in HomeKit, and have location set up correctly, HomeKit will recognize when you are home, and then show the garage door icon in CarPlay's dashboard.

Do you have two of the single ones or the one that does three doors? I am wondering if you run two separate single ones how they would show up in carplay/homekit etc.
CarPlay only shows the last door you used. So if you manually open the garage door via HomeKit, it will then default to this door in CarPlay.

Once in a while, it will switch to another one. In my case, I also use Homebridge, and have use the dummy garage door plugin for some automation (open this one, and disable alarm, open door, etc), as I'm currently not using the garage but wanted to do all this without actually opening the garage door.

I paid a lot for my garage door with MyQ then they just added advertising in the Android app.

Alos if you are on cellular data and switch to WiFi the app "forgets" who you are. When do you switch to WiFi? When you get hone.

Genie Alladin is far better than this produce. Alladin door sensor is wireless as well.

Bought the cheaper non-homekit one (which is a lightning deal for 5 more hrs). We'll see how it goes.

Just got mine today, since it got lost in transit for a week. All setup and working great. I wasn't a huge fan of the wired sensor, coming from MyQ's wireless one, but figured out a way to get it setup pretty well. I am super happy to have it working in HomeKit again. Loved that feature with the MyQ (via HomeBridge) until they purposely killed it. I was about to throw it away until I realized that I was using it for Amazon Key, but I almost never use that feature so might just disable it. Either way, this system works well and doesn't have that annoying beep when closing anymore.

I just received it this afternoon. Took me about an hour to install it while reading the instruction. If I have a second unit to install, it should take less than 30 min. I got is linked to Google Home for voice control. I like that it ask for a PIN when openning with voice.
