8 pieces of greasy dark meat? Yuck. Wouldn't serve it to my dog. Buy a roasted chicken at Costco for $5.
I don't understand why these people are here. Obviously, if you don't care for KFC, move along then. Go have some more of those roast steroid Costco chicken then.
Oh, skip KFC. chicken pot pie. They are gummy with very little chicken, mostly filled with mashed potato.
The "soggy vs crunchy" and "breading falls off vs breading clings" experiences have tons to do with whether or not the chicken was allowed to properly rest on the rack. That's actually a prescribed and necessary step in the Colonel's process. I ordered at a crowded drive-thru once and we were at the window waiting on my batch to finish. They took it from the fryer and dumped it into the bucket. It was a pure sog-fest, super sweaty inside the bucket when I got home, not one bit of the breading was sturdy or willing to cling to the skin. Was still a huge pile of tasty protein, so we ate. Technically, probably still pretty delicious by world standards. But WORLDS below what it's supposed/advertised to be, and what it would have been with a correct drying/crisping rest on the rack.
I grew up in England in the 70s and KFC was a major treat when I was a kid. The chicken was juicy and the skin and coating was thin and crispy. They used to provide a lemon scented cloth for cleaning your hands afterwards. I remember it being very expensive though compared to fish & chips or Chinese takeaway which is why we only ever had it as a treat.
I've not had KFC in about 20 years and decided to get this deal in Northern California. When I got it home I was happy they got the order wrong and gave me two breast pieces. I ate 4 pieces but didn't really enjoy it. The chicken was "wet" not juicy and the skin was thin and greasy.
The next day I warmed up the other 4 pieces in a 400°F oven on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Restored the chick to juicy and crispy how I remember it as a kid. A massive pool of oil collected on the baking sheet.
I eat at Chick-Fil-A all the time, and this is not accurate. Delicious? Yes. But Greasy? Also yes. There's just less breading to hold the oil, and there's no such thing as crispy or crunchy at CFA.
the 1 thing i absolutely hate about KFC is that if you have any Gift Cards with them, you can't redeem then via the app. and many stores don't take them (it has to be a corporate store)

Got the deal. Kind of regret it. It's a great price but the food was subpar. Haven't had KFC in ages, so I figured I'd try it out. Who puts napkins on top of the bucket!?!? It just gets soggy. I guess it's better than none. It was somewhat crispy on the outside despite that I chose extra crispy. The inside was just blah.
Extra crispy isn't real KFC. The Colonel (of blessed memory) HATED it.
After I ate Popeyes, its hard to go back to KFC, Churches, or Ezell's. I gotta drive 30 minutes for Popeye and Ezells and KFC is just 3 mintues from where I live. So its a nice treat to eat at Popeyes.

They are putting Popeyes in "non Popeye " towns in Connecticut......West Hartford was a stunner.

And before someone says anything, they were both on the way from where I was to where I was going. Smoother experience than I would have thought.
