I forgot to add, fallout 4 is getting a free update on April 25th 2024. This update gives it a next gen upgrade for Xbox, so you can do 4K 60fps
If you're on XBOX, Fallout 4 GOTY is probably the best bet since it's the newest version, has a ton of content, and will be the most up to date as far as Quality of Life features go.
Fallout 3 holds a special place in my memory, but it looks very outdated on the box in 2024. If you're on PC, there's an overwhelming number of mods for it, and New Vegas as well.
FO4 will likely be the least jarring graphically. I fizzled out on completing it, but had a great time with the time I spent on it. Managing the settlements can be a bit of a chore, depending on how deep into that you get.
The first time you "whoops, that's a super mutant", or "whoops, that's a death claw" are some great gaming moments.
Don't forget to save your game! Often.
new vegas is by far the best 3d fallout game
edit: don't get me wrong, though. they're all worth playing. new vegas just feels more like the original games than the others do

That's great to hear. Never played a Fallout game but have enjoyed the tv series so far but have been hesitant on getting into any of the games assuming the graphics were outdated.

I bought the game now, and I'm gonna wait until April 25th to start the game, so that I get next gen graphics

The graphics in fallout 3 and new Vegas are just fine in my opinion. It doesn't detract from the story and gameplay. Sure, it's not a 2022 release at 4k60p but it's not 64-bit level either. maybe some of the mechanics differ from each title but don't let that fact keep you from enjoying other wise great games.
I've never played any fallout game, any of these a must do, or better yet if I were to just try 1 which should I go with?

Honestly, I'm going to get flack from RPG purists, but Fallout 3 is the best entry point if you're ok with older games, and Fallout 4 if you're not. Fallout 3 has the most character without shutting you out of parts of the game as you progress, while 4 has the newest sheen.
